“Nrg, fuck.” He grunts, then slams home, hips pressed tight against me as he empties his load into my ass.

I sigh at how amazingly claimed I feel, and when Davey’s done, he drops down on top of me.

“I never wanted that to end,” he says.

“I got that impression, yeah.”

He huffs a laugh as his cock slips out, and then he rolls me onto my front. “On your knees. I want to see it run out.”

Where this would have made me self-conscious at one point, there’s none of that now. I cross my arms over my pillow and prop up onto my knees, and then I push his cum back out again. The feel of it running down my thighs gives me shivers, especially when he runs his fingers through it.

“I love you so much,” he whispers.

“You better be talking to me and not my ass.”

Davey laughs and leaves to get a washcloth. “Tell me we can do that again tomorrow,” he says, running the hot washcloth up my thighs.

“Anytime you want.”

It’s not until he’s cleaned me up and we’ve changed the sheets and gotten dressed that I let reality rush back in.

Anytime he wants. For a week. Just a week.

And then he has to leave again.

I pretend I’m asleep so neither of us has to talk about it.

I need to have a word with whoever turned up time. Christmas disappeared before I could blink, and then New Year’s passed in the pop of a firework, and now … Mack pulls up out the front of the hire car place in Springfield, neither of us having said much on the drive.

“Where are we, Daddy?” Kiera asks, and it squeezes my heart.

I plaster on a smile before turning to her. “I have to pick up a car. I’m going back to work today, remember?”

“But I don’t want you to go.”

“I know. Neither do I.”

“Then why are you?”

That’s the question, isn’t it? Mack is stiff beside me, staring blankly out the front window, and every part of this feels wrong. And exactly the same as it always does. I just need to make it out of the car.

“I’m going to make some money, and then I’ll be back soon.”

Her little face crumples. “I don’t like when you go away.”

Fuck.

I get out of the car and round to her door so I can swamp her in a hug. “You’ll be back at school soon. You’ll hardly notice I’m gone.”

“Daddy work?” Van asks.

“Yeah, buddy. I have to go to work today.”

“No, Daddy. No work.”
