“Yes, Jet. My Alpha.” Her walls squeezed again, and my cock jerked, impossibly sending more of my seed shooting into her. “My mate. I want it all. I claim you, Jet. I claim your very essence.”
We shuddered as the lock sealed tight through our bond. We belonged to each other now. We were mated properly and completely, and I sagged forward, resting my head on her back.
Everything slowed down, and the heat taking Senna shifted, turning us both inward as we slumped down onto our sides, still joined together. Exhaustion washed over us both, and Senna’s body hummed in steady waves of comforting warmth.
That purr rumbled from my chest again, and I stroked my hand up and down her arm. I didn’t need to reach for the blanket, thanks to the warmth Senna gave off, so I just circled myself tighter around her. I was still enveloped by her slick walls, and we would stay that way until the heat rose again.
Then, and for every time after, I would rut her again. I would be here for every moment she needed me.
Senna sighed low, and I nuzzled into her hair by her neck.
“What, sweetness?”
“Nothing.” I could hear the smile in her voice. “I’m just…content. That’s pretty rare for me.”
“Not anymore, Senna.” I kissed the healing bite, a delightful hum reverberating through our bond. “I will be with you. Always.”
“Thank you, Jet. I think I…” She yawned, and I couldn’t help but laugh. “I need sleep. Stay right here, though. I want to wake up with you still right here.”
She swiveled her hips gently, and a possessive growl rumbled through my chest before melting into that purr.
“Easy, sweetness. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
Chapter 13 - Senna
Consciousness resurfaced, and I wasn’t sure if this time it would be for another round of my heat or not. Jet and I had spent the entire night entangled with each other. He was there through every surge, allowing me to claim precisely what I needed from him at every turn. He’d fed and watered me, the delicious food provided by MacKenzie taking the edge off my exhaustion and muscle soreness.
It was…incredible.
The years of heats alone, the pain and anguish they caused, were just gone. I was mated, fully claimed, and so full of joy that I didn’t know how to process it.
Blinking my eyes open, still grateful for the darkness, I looked around the room. My den had still survived several rounds of activity. It also smelled so strongly of our combined scents that I was sure it would forever smell like the two of us in here. I adored it.
As more of my brain came back online, I smiled and stretched, dislodging Jet, who immediately whined low in his sleep. He liked to be nestled deep within me, maybe even more than I enjoyed him there. With a chuckle, I sat up on my elbow.
That’s when I noticed the different feelings in my body. I was warm, my usual internal temperature not quite back from the heat. That’s…new.
Typically, I was back to my average slightly elevated temperature, but this was higher. Warmer. Like I was…incubating something within me.
Oh, Gods. It worked. I’m…
A soft chuckle rippled through me, and I put my hand to my lower belly. How in the hell I’d gone from rejected and alone to mated and bred and surrounded by a new pack was a damn mystery, but one that I was not going to argue with anymore.
This new life—the life growing within me—was too good. I would not let it go.
Slipping free of Jet’s arms and crawling out gently to stand, I paused at the side of the bed, looking down at my sleeping alpha. Gods, he was perfect. He was mine. Settling into my bones, a subtle ache sounded through my muscles. I was sore, and I needed a shower, if only to rinse some of the sweat away.
After all, I wanted to be carrying Jet’s scent in my skin for the foreseeable future.
He was still very much asleep, so I padded toward the bathroom so that I could get the shower running. As I walked there, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My skin held a rosy glow, passion marks and my healing bite decorating me. Ha, what a sight. I’ve never felt this healthy before.
But then my vision went hazy at the edges. Had I waited too long to eat more? Was this a blood sugar thing?
A swell of energy rushed up through me, and the world in front of me disappeared. I collapsed to my knees as my brain howled, images streaming in from some unknown source, nearly too fast to process.
“Ugh,” I grunted, uselessly scrabbling on the tile floor for something to grip.
The pounding of my heart screamed in my ears, and then the sporadic flashes of wolf fur and pine trees solidified behind my closed eyes.
