“Aiden is going to be a Knight. I can’t ignore him for the rest of my life.”
“You can be friends.” He squeezed my shoulder, his sharp gaze softening. “But that’s it. You’re going to be brothers for life. Sex will only complicate matters.”
“Fine,” I said to get him off my back. “But if my Black Card isn’t working within the hour, I’m going to make a sex tape of me fucking both of them and send it to your board of directors.”
Before he could respond, I stormed out of the room.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
AIDEN
I woke up, heart racing in my chest and feeling sick to my stomach, forgetting for a moment that I was in my bedroom at Wellington Manor. Most days started this way. After staying up half the night with one of my twin’s night terrors, I had two hours of sleep before being jolted back to reality.
“Who the fuck is calling me at this hour?” I rolled over to silence the stupid phone and stopped when I saw Sonny’s name flash on the screen.
Sonny had sent me a text message a few hours after I got home. My chest ached after reading that message. I didn’t even bother to respond. He acted like I hadn’t spent hours fucking him.
Sonny
Last night was fun… but it can’t happen again.
Fuck him.
I wanted to send him to voicemail. He deserved that much for writing me off like a bad debt. But I was a masochist, so I answered.
“What do you want, Pretty Boy?” I sat up and scrubbed at my tired eyes with my fist, annoyed that I had a raging boner when I needed to take a piss. “It’s five o’clock in the morning.”
“We have school in two hours,” he said in a snobby, know-it-all tone. “You should have been up an hour ago.”
“Fuck you,” I snapped. “I’m hanging up and going back to sleep.”
Not like that would happen. Sonny was partially responsible for my lack of sleep. For hours after I got Alex back to bed, I stared up at the ceiling, thinking about his pretty mouth. So I jerked off to the thought of his tight ass, dreaming of doing it again. I eventually drifted off, only to be woken up with bullshit.
“Aiden, wait,” Sonny pleaded. “I need to talk to you.”
“What’s there to talk about?” I slid my legs off the bed and took a deep breath through my nose, blowing it out slowly through my mouth. “You made it crystal clear you wanted nothing to do with me. That we were just having fun this weekend.”
“It’s not you,” he stammered.
“It’s me?” I guessed.
“Fuck, no.” He sighed into the receiver. “I’m not into cliches, Sunshine.” Sonny paused for a second, thinking over his words carefully. “I wanted to say I’m sorry. What I wrote… I didn’t mean it, okay?”
“No, it’s not okay,” I bit out. “You… You fucking acted like what we did meant nothing to you. And you sent it via text.”
“I know… And I’m sorry.” He lowered his voice, and I heard footsteps in the background. “Look, my dad is holding my balls in his fucking safe. He’s got me ass for another eight years until I get full access to my trust fund.”
“At least you were right about one thing,” I told him, anger rolling off me in waves.
“What’s that?”
“We had fun. But we shouldn’t do it again. It will only make things more complicated, anyway.”
“Yeah,” he agreed. “That’s what my dad said.”
“Do you have your own mind?” I headed into the ensuite bathroom and slammed the door behind me. “Or do you always follow Daddy’s orders?”
“Don’t be a dick,” he snapped, his deep voice dripping with frustration. “You don’t know what it’s like. If you had grown up like I did, you wouldn’t be judging me right now.”
