“And who says I want your dick in me?” she sasses.
“Are you going to pretend that you don’t?”
She just smiles at me and takes a seat at the table as I uncover the dishes on the trolley and pull two warm plates from the bottom. I ordered steak, chips, onion rings, salad, and different sauces, because I didn’t know which one she would want—the fucking works.
“That smells amazing,” she says as I gesture for her to start filling her plate.
“Eat, and then we’ll talk,” I say as I sit down and dish my own food.
“And then we’ll fuck?” she asks cheekily, and a roar of laughter leaves me.
“Yes, Elise, then we’ll fuck, and I’ll eat your pussy for dessert,” I tell her, which earns me a grin.
“Will you tell me to get on my knees?”
Oh, she’s goading me, and if she carries on, we won’t be eating, and we won’t be talking, because she’ll be too busy with my dick in her mouth to hear what I have to ask her.
“Will you be a good girl?”
“Aren’t I always?” she says playfully, and I fucking love this side of her. It brings out the best in me too, her playfulness, her sass, and her smart fucking mouth that unleashes more and more with every day that passes. Her smile, it’s the fucking light I need amidst all of the dark.
We continue to eat our food in contented silence, and once we’re done, I sit back and get straight to the point of what I want to talk about, because the sooner it’s done, the sooner I get to take her to bed.
“I fired Hayley today,” I blurt out, and maybe it wasn’t a good idea to say it when she was sipping her drink, because it makes her splutter. I quickly round the table and rub her back as she controls her breathing. “Jesus, are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” She waves her hand and turns on her chair to face me. “You did what?”
“I fired Hayley.”
“Why?”
“Because she fucked up.”
“Oh my god. But… what did she do?” she asks.
“She’s the reason your husband attacked you,” I state, and her mouth drops open.
“Dorien, come on, she can’t be blamed for that.”
“Can’t she?”
“Well, not really. I mean, she sent me out there, yes, but she didn’t know that Derrick was going to be waiting there for me.”
“Think about it, Elise,” I say as I lean down, one hand braced on her chair, the other on the table. “Fucking convenient that the chute was blocked on the floor you were working on, and that you were asked to go out there, where Derrick was waiting at the right time to get you on your own.”
“He could have been waiting there for a while, and he would know when my shifts ended,” she points out.
“Yes, that’s true, but it doesn’t account for the fact that he showed up five minutes before she found you and asked you to go out there, it doesn’t account for the fact that the security camera at the staff entrance was turned off, and it doesn’t account for the fact that she’d had phone conversations with him, and the odd text.”
I don’t think I could have shocked her more if I’d tried. Her eyes are wide with surprise as she processes what I’ve just said. “No, you must have it wrong.”
“Except I don’t.” I spent the remainder of the afternoon on the phone to my tech guy, where he delved into Hayley’s phone records. Call me a paranoid fucker, but after she gave herself away in my office earlier, I needed to know exactly what Hayley had been up to. I knew there was something shifty about it all.
“Fucking hell,” she exclaims. “I mean, why would she do that?”
I just give her a look, and it doesn’t take her long to catch onto my meaning.
“Oh god, this is because I’m here, isn’t it? This is because I’m here with you,” Elise deduces, and all I do is nod my head, because there’s no point in sugar-coating Hayley’s actions. She would have no other reason to go after Elise, even if she is a first-class bitch regardless. “Had you and her—”
