“I’m sorry if I worried you,” he says, placing a kiss on my forehead. “I don’t know what came over me. Maybe I’m just tired from working so much and I felt awful for leaving you on our first official day of living together.” He smiles, and I feel my worries sliding away. That makes more sense than the bad feeling he mentioned. Of course he feels bad about going off when I have just moved in here. I put his worry down to that and the stress of juggling his personal life with his job.
“That’s okay,” I say as I move my body closer to him. “You said that you would make it up to me.” I let my lips hover in front of his as I link my arms around his neck.
“I did, didn’t I?” he replies with a smirk on his lips. I nod and feel his hands come down to my ass. He caresses my cheeks and then lifts me up. I wrap my legs around his waist and let out a squeal of delight. “I guess I better start making it up to you right now,” Luke says as he starts to walk us up the stairs, towards our bedroom. A shiver goes through me as we enter the bedroom, and his lips meet mine. Sparks fly as he lays me down on the bed and kisses me softly. I guess the unpacking will just have to wait a little bit longer…
Chapter Five
As Luke and I spend the whole of Sunday unpacking, it really starts to sink in that I live here now. Sure, I have stayed here countless times over the years, but actually living here feels so different. A part of me still can’t believe that he finally asked me. I have never been one to put pressure on him about anything. I have always been laid back about the progression of our relationship. I guess that’s what comes from finding your soul mate.
My friends always thought I was crazy for not wanting to push things along, but I ignored them. I knew that Luke would ask when he was ready, and I knew that it would mean more coming from him rather than from me pestering him.
“God, I didn’t realise that you had so much stuff,” Luke says as he brings another box into the lounge. The lounge is an adequate size, but it is very manly. I don’t mind manly, but it won’t hurt to put my own touches in here. I smile as I undo the box that he has just placed on the floor, and I pull out a couple of pillows.
“Oh no, you’re not having those in here,” Luke says as he looks at the pillows that I have just pulled out.
“Why not?” I ask, knowing full well what his reason will be. I just want to push his buttons a little.
“Char, I love you, but I am not having hot-pink bloody pillows in here.” He takes one off of me. “I mean, seriously, the glitter around the edge just makes it even more ghastly.” I struggle not to laugh at him as I bite my bottom lip.
“But I thought they would go nicely with the cream sofa.” His eyes widen as he clearly thinks that I am going to put them in here. At this point, I can no longer contain my laughter. “Your face is a picture,” I say, struggling to catch my breath from laughing so much. I see the edge of his mouth curve into a smile.
“Tease,” he says as he throws the pillow at me. I continue to laugh and throw the pillow back at him. We go back and forth like this for a couple of seconds before Luke grabs me and wrestles me to the floor, pinning me down with his body.
The laughter dies on my lips as his eyes penetrate me, the moment turning serious. He captures my mouth with his and I let out a soft moan. His hand slowly roams up and down the side of my body, finding its way underneath my top. A delicious tingle goes down my spine from the feel of his fingers on my bare flesh. He breaks his lips from mine and starts to kiss down my neck.
As my pussy awakens, preparing for the pleasure that I am surely going to be experiencing shortly, there is a knock on the front door. I jump from the sudden noise and Luke lets out a groan as he stops kissing me. I frown as he looks down at me.
“Who the hell could that be?” I grumble.
“I have no idea. Don’t move, I’ll get rid of them,” Luke says with a groan. He places a quick kiss on my lips before standing up. He goes to the doorway and turns back to look at me. “Don’t move,” he repeats, pointing his finger at me.
I silently salute him as he turns and goes to answer the front door. I keep my ears pricked so I can hear who it is interrupting our moment together. As I hear the door open, I quickly find myself sitting up as I hear my mother’s voice floating down the hallway.
“Luke, darling,” she says.
“Hi, Sophie,” Luke replies, and I hear the front door click shut. “Charlie is in the lounge.”
“Okay,” my mother replies, already knowing her way around this house seeing as she has been here before. I busy myself so that I look like I wasn’t just pinned to the floor by my boyfriend, but instead I was unpacking. As my mother enters the lounge, I smile. “Darling,” she says as she holds her hands out to me. I put down the photo frame that I had just picked up and I give her a hug.
“Hey, Mum. What brings you here?” I ask as she lets me go.
“I just thought I would drop by and see what you guys have done with the place,” she says as her eyes roam around the room. I see her eyebrows knit together. “Where are all of your things?” she asks me.
“We haven’t gotten around to this room yet,” I reply, keeping the amusement out of my voice.
“Oh. Well, what have you been doing then?” she asks, clearly having difficulty understanding why everything isn’t done already. I feel myself blush as I try to think of a suitable excuse as to why I haven’t finished unpacking. Luckily, Luke comes to my rescue.
“You know what she’s like,” he says, nodding towards me. “Charlie doesn’t do anything in a rush.” I place my hands on my hips and narrow my gaze on him. I watch as he smirks.
“Of course. She doesn’t take after me, you know,” my mother replies. Luke starts to laugh as I watch them banter about me.
“Um, I am in the room you know?” I say, allowing a smile to grace my face.
“Yeah, yeah,” Luke says. “Would you like a drink, Sophie?”
“Yes please.”
“Black tea, no sugar?” Luke asks, even though he knows the answer.
