I could live my life with my pack, enjoy my life with them, love them as deeply as possible while continuing to heal from those parts of my past that sometimes still reared their ugly head in my memories.
Eventually, the party slowed, and the guests left, leaving behind more gifts than twenty people should have brought.
“My family sent them,” Amir explained when I gawked at the massive pile in the living room.
“That’s going to take us forever to open. What in the world couldthey have bought? Not like we’re newlyweds setting up our first pack house.”
Amir exchanged a cryptic look with my alphas but steered me toward the stairs before I could question them.
It was time to consummate our marriage. And there was no way that would happen without all five of us naked and in the bed together.
CHAPTER 49
Issa
Ihad only gotten through a few of the presents in the two days since our wedding. Most of them were simple, things like crystalware, jewelry, and such. There was also a load of envelopes that felt thicker than they should have if they’d only contained simple cards, making me worry his family had stuffed money in them.
Today, we were heading to Amir’s family’s home. My new family’s home.
A smile pulled up my lips as I braided my hair away from my face then applied a coat of mascara.
“You almost ready, sweetheart?” Cyrus asked from the bathroom door.
“Yep. Just got to put my shoes on,” I answered.
My guys were all in jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies since the weather had taken a turn toward cooler since it was still early spring.
I was dressed similarly but had chosen a sweater over a tank top instead of a hoodie.
Cyrus leaned against the door, his arms crossed over his chest, and watched me with a sweet smile.
“What are you looking at?” I teased him as I tugged on my boots.
Amir had bought them for me as a prewedding gift after the last time I’d gone to his parents and ended up stepping in a steaming pile of horse poo. We’d all gotten a good laugh at that, especially me when I whined so much Amir had ended up cleaning said poo from the bottoms of my sneakers.
“Why do you look so fucking hot in everything you wear?” Ax said as he pushed past Cyrus to get to me.
He instantly bent me backward over his arm and started nibbling on my neck, sending chill bumps rising across my body when he brushed across any of my bonding marks.
“We’re going to be late!” Enzo called from downstairs.
I swatted at Ax, trying to wiggle from his hold. Instead, he lifted me in his arms and carried me bridal style from the room and down the stairs like I weighed nothing.
“Can’t have you scuffing up your new boots now, can we?” he said as he ran his chin over the top of my head.
“They’re supposed to get scuffed, dumbass. They’re for stomping around in mud and horse shit,” Enzo grumbled.
“Nice,” Cyrus said with a shake of his head.
Amir had a few gifts stacked in his arms as he waited near the garage door for us with a smile adorning his gorgeous face.
“Are we opening more gifts at your parents’?”
He shrugged up one shoulder. “Mom said something about wanting to see you open a few of these.”
“She worried about what the rest of your family sent?” I joked as Ax set me down in the back seat of the SUV before climbing in beside me.
So far, the few things we’d opened had been beautiful and innocent.
