“How so?” Cyrus asked, still staring at the picture with a sappy smile on his face.

“Took us forever to bond with Issa. She claimed the omega before we did. She fucked him before us. Didn’t really court Amir. And now, we’re skipping a bonding ceremony with either our omega or our beta and the two of them are getting married.” He lifted his eyes from the screen. “Think he’ll let us at least be groomsmen? I look hot in a tux.”

I shook my head as Cyrus rolled his eyes.

“We’ll do exactly whatever the two of them ask us to do, even if that means sitting in the front row and watching them at the altar,” I declared.

Although…yeah, I really did want to stand up there with them. I wanted to walk her down the aisle with her other two alphas and stand proudly while she and Amir swore their hearts and souls to each other in front of witnesses.

Not sure how many witnesses there would be, though.

Unlike her now deceased fathers, we didn’t give a shit about appearances or prestige, nor did my brother or his pack.

Didn’t matter. Didn’t matter if it was only the five of us and someone to officiate. We would put together the wedding of her dreams, no matter how simple or extravagant she wanted.

“Dude,” Ax said, leaning back in his chair and spreading his knees wide as he adjusted his obvious boner. “I just had a thought…Amir is going to look smoking hot in a tux. Issa will probably wear some sexy ass lingerie under her dress. And we’ll have to wait until after the fucking ceremony to get them home.”

And once again, Cyrus rolled his eyes while I shook my head at our horndog packmate.

CHAPTER 40

Issa

My eyes flitted from Amir to Athena, then back to my omega again.

Everyone was excited about the wedding. Overly excited. Yet I…

I was a bundle of nerves.

We’d set a date for a year from now in hopes of the whole Antonio thing finally being over. Either way, Bain had offered as many guards as we wanted to watch over us to make sure we didn’t end up like an episode ofGame of Thrones.

“What about something like this?” Athena asked, turning the laptop toward me.

“Mom! Seriously?” Amir admonished his mom with the biggest smile on his face.

The gown on the screen was poofy and white and covered in lace.

“I don’t think I can pull something like that off,” I said instead of telling her I’d rather not look like a giant cupcakeon my wedding day.

“We’re trying for lowkey, Mom. That is more like a Greek travesty.”

“What’s wrong with a Greek wedding?” Athena said, pushing Amir’s shoulder.

“Issa isn’t Greek.”

“But you are.”

“Ah, but only half.”

“Oh! I know! What if we mix Greek and Syrian for the ceremony?! Think of the food I could make.”

A dull throb began behind my eyes as she rambled on. I’d been overjoyed that I would have some form of a mother to help with all of this, but she was…a lot!

Amir’s hand landed on my thigh and squeezed gently. I turned my eyes to my omega’s face and forced a smile.

His gaze bounced between my eyes a second before he nodded as though he’d read my mind and come to the same conclusion.

“Reel it in, Mom. Too much. My girl isn’t used to…all this.” His arms went wide.
