Rune’s finger made another quick swipe of my clit. My hips jerked on impulse as my body demanded more.

“Shit,” the male voice groaned. “Let’s turn back. I swear this maze gets harder every year.”

My hips bucked, pressing Rune’s finger more firmly against me, needing to feel more. He bit into my neck, and the sudden pain amidst the pleasure made me throw my head back and hold my breath against the threat of another gasp. His lips sucked on and kissed the spot while his finger pulled me closer to the edge of ecstasy.

“Should we cut through the corn here?” the female suggested. “We can just cheat.”

My heart thundered at her words. They were going to come in here? The threat made me grip onto Rune’s arms again, but my hips and his hand didn’t listen. It felt too good. I was so damn hot. So damn close.

I whimpered softly, both out of frustration at not being able to let out my voice and because I was so hungry to reach that climax. Oddly enough, the threat of these strangers stumbling into our haven almost seemed to make me hungrier. It was exciting in the most bizarre way, and it had me rocking back and forth against Rune’s finger even more, trying to stoke that flame and turn it into fireworks.

“That’s right,” Rune whispered into my throat. “Fuck my hand. Ride my finger like you want to ride me.”

So close. I was so close.

“No! We’re not cheating. We’re doing this right. Come on,” the male answered.

My half-shuttered eyes watched the jeans and camo retreat until silence surrounded us again.

“Good girl,” Rune growled into my ear. “For doing so well and keeping quiet, I’ll reward you.”

There were no more teasing circles or half-hearted movements about his finger now. He rubbed against my throbbing wet need, pulling on that tight tether of my ache until, finally, it snapped. I came undone, shaking in his arms and letting out a harsh groan into the maze. His digit slowed until I finished gasping for air. He withdrew his hand from my underwear, and I looked over my shoulder to watch him lick the shining orgasm from his fingers with a satisfied grin.

Chapter Twenty-Five

“BETTER LUCK NEXT time, Bria,” Greshim said, reaching up to pat my back.

“Yeah,” Ardley nodded from next to me. “Last place. That’s gotta suck.”

Rune wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. He glanced down at me with a ghost of a smile. “I don’t mind last place.”

Cheeks heated, I said, “Me neither.”

Akira and Bassel had apparently made it out only a minute or two before us, so that was nice. I hoped no one suspected anything. The twins had won, and as a prize, they got to choose what we did after taking a small snack and restroom break, for which I was thankful. I was definitely in need of a trip to the bathroom so I could tidy myself up.

“I’ll be right back,” I said to the group as I headed for the restroom. There were a few stalls, and thankfully, one was open. After freshening up downstairs, I went to the row of sinks across from the stalls. As I washed my hands, a woman came up next to me at the neighboring sink and cleared her throat.

I glanced over, first seeing the blue ball cap, but as soon as she looked up, my heart danced with joy.

“Dallas!” I squealed, flinging my arms around her neck.

She laughed and squeezed me back. “Finally, I get a moment to see you.”

Pulling back, I beamed at her. “What are you doing here?”

She raised a slender brow at me. “Shouldn’t you know the answer to that?”

“I mean, yes. I just meant are you here at the festival and, you know, enjoying yourself?”

She bobbed her head side to side and mulled my question. “I suppose. Though, not nearly as much fun as what you’re having from what I heard.”

The air in my lungs stilled, and despite my attempts to keep my face devoid of signs of admission, I felt color rise to my cheeks. “What? How—”

Another stall opened then, and out walked a beautiful, dark-skinned woman. She had a shaved head and large doe eyes. Even beneath her black turtleneck and pants, I could see her body was toned and well formed. She looked like a stunning warrior goddess.

“Bria,” Dallas started, with amusement laced into her voice. “This is Imani. Imani, you, of course, know Bria, but now you can officially meet.”

Imani’s face lit up, and she bowed. “It’s so nice to officially meet you, Your Highness.”
