“We’re pregnant.”
I love that he said we’re pregnant. I love that he includes himself in the process. Katherine jumps up, screaming loudly. “Oh my god! My prayers have been answered!” She runs around the table crying and hugs Trey, but she clutches onto me like I’m her lifeline.
“You just made my dream come true!” she whispers in my ear, and I just let her hold me. Her husbands hover at her back, concerned because she is so emotional.
“You okay, Mom?” Trey peeks around my shoulder so he can look at her face.
She sniffs and lets me go, rubbing the tears from my face. “My baby is having a baby, that hit me.” She gives Trey a sad look. Alex pulls her to him and holds her.
I take Trey’s hand. “I do hope that you can help babysit. My mother lives a few hours away, so it will be hard for her to come much.” I fist pump internally when her eyes glaze over with happiness.
“You have me anytime. I would be so honored” She practically floats through the room then starts telling the guys about decorating a nursery and a million other things.
Right now my mom and dad should be getting a delivery of flowers, letting them know they’re going to be grandparents.
Trey wraps his arms around me from behind. “Thank you for that.” He kisses my cheek. My heart is happy. These are the moments I live for. Family means so much to me.
I never got to make it to California to get all of my things. I thought that it wasn’t safe considering Freddy was probably still there, so Trey hired someone to pack up my stuff and ship it all here.
I think that was just a crazy fluke and the police probably scared him away. He would have done something by now if he was still around, I feel.
I just need to think of that. I don't need any of that negativity in my life. “I think it’s time for us to go home,” Trey tells his parents, and I have to agree. I’m still not one hundred percent from being so sick yesterday.
They hug us goodbye and we shut the door to Katherine still talking about making a nursery for the baby.
It was really amazing to see how they interact and how we interact as a threesome relationship.
I lean my head on Vinny’s shoulder sleepily. “Tired, sweetheart?” Vinny asks, rubbing my thigh.
“I’m always tired.” I rub my stomach, yawning.
“You need to rest more,” Trey scolds me, and I laugh. “Trey, I hadn’t left the bed in a week until yesterday. I don’t need any more rest. It’s your baby that’s making me tired.”
He grins when I say “your” baby. “I’ll have a talk to him or her.”
I roll my eyes and snuggle closer to Vinny.
Soon we’re pulling up to the house and I notice Danny’s truck is parked in front.
“Danny is probably visiting the girls. Do you want to go visit them?”
“Sure, I miss the girls.” Vinny helps me out and we all three walk over hand in hand.
We knock on the door and Etta opens the door in a pair of sweatpants and a baggy shirt. “Hi guys, come on in.” She pushes the door open and we step inside.
“Danny in the back?” Vinny asks and sits down, pulling me into his lap.
“WINNY!” Michaela runs into the room with Lynn behind her. She looks exhausted. I think she’s having a hard time adjusting and it’s hard on her.
I slide out of Vinny’s lap so he can pick up Michaela, who snuggles against his chest. “I missed you, baby girl. Did you miss me?” He rubs her back, smiling happily.
“I always miss you, Winny.” Her eyes drift closed.
Trey and I eye him. I look at Trey, who gives me a heated look. Oh yeah, we’re thinking the same thing.
I turn my attention to Lynn, “You okay?” I ask her.
She turns away from me and rubs her eyes. “I’m tired. I went through the same thing as my friend, but seeing her go through it? It’s heartbreaking. I can’t help her. She is so hard on herself and has so much self-loathing.” She gives me a haunted look.
