“Holy fucking shit. That was…” Maddox says, out of breath as he pulls Raena next to him, kissing her forehead. She curls up next to him, her head on his chest and closes her eyes.
I get off the bed and go into the bathroom to get a warm washcloth to clean her up. She is exhausted. I doubt she could even stand to make it to the shower. So this will have to do for now. She is already sleeping when I return.
“Help me get her cleaned up, and we can move to my room for the night,” I tell my brothers. This bed is soaked, there is no way we can sleep comfortably in here.
Once we are all cleaned up, I pick Raena up and carry her to my bed. Maddox and Royal head into the bathroom to get cleaned up and it doesn’t take them long before they are piling in the bed with us.
“Tonight was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before,” I tell them in the quiet darkness.
“Same. She is special,” Royal says, snuggling closer to Raena and kissing her hair.
“She brings out things in each of us I never expected. We’re going to have to talk about everything soon, you know,” Maddox says.
“We will, I promise,” Royal replies, reaching behind him and grabbing Maddox’s arm. He wraps it around his waist before closing his eyes. “For now, let’s just get some sleep. I think we’re going to have a crazy few days ahead of us.”
Chapter 46
“You have ten seconds to wake her up before I knock the shit out of you again, Royal.”
Ella’s panicked voice wakes me from some of the deepest sleep I've ever had. Last night was mind blowing. I can still feel the delicious reminder of how well Maddox and Royal stretched me until I thought I was going to split in two.
“Make it stop,” Maddox groans against my chest, his face nuzzled perfectly between my breasts before he rolls over and covers his head with a pillow.
Alek’s giant hand flexes against my bare pussy as he growls in my ear and holds me tighter against him. “Who is yelling?”
“That’s just Ella. She’s worried. Go back to sleep. I’ll go talk to her,” I tell him, wiggling my body between them so I can get up.
He growls even deeper, tightening his hold on my pussy and grinding his massive morning wood against my ass.
“Baby Girl. Keep that up and no one is leaving this bed today.”
“Oh. I’m sorry,” I say, a quiet giggle bubbling out of my throat as I still myself, waiting for him to release me. He gives me one last snuggle, kissing my temple before letting me go. I scoot down the bed and climb off the end over the rail.
Grabbing Royal’s shirt off the floor, I slip it over my head quickly and head out to see my oldest and dearest friend. On the way down the stairs, I realize there’s this feeling in my chest that is hard to explain. It feels light. Free. Happy.
I know I won’t truly be happy until my daughter is back in my arms, but there is no guilt for how much these men mean to me. I didn’t think it was possible to feel this way about anyone, let alone three men at the same time.
I can’t explain it, and it might sound batshit crazy to most people, but I know in my bones that my soul belongs to them. Their souls picked up the shattered pieces of mine, entwined them together, and made the pieces whole once again.
A smile ghosts over my lips by the time I step down into the living room, where Ella is standing toe to toe with a pissed-off, half-naked Royal.
He looks absolutely edible this morning, with his tattoos and muscles on display. If Ella wasn’t looking at him like she’s two seconds away from beating his ass, I might demand he put a shirt on.
“Finally. What the fuck, Rae? Are you okay? I get a message from ‘Big Daddy’ saying to be here this morning that it's an emergency, and then this constipated asshat won’t let me speak to you,” she rushes out, stepping around Royal and making a beeline for me.
“First, I’m sorry. It is an emergency, but I’m okay. I need to talk to you,” I tell her, hugging her tight against me.
“I’ll go start some coffee and breakfast. You can talk in the library,” Royal grumbles, rubbing his hands over his face.
Both Ella and I whip around comically and gape at him. “You have a library?” We say in unison.
“Yes, some of us are evolved and like to read,” he smirks back at us before his features soften just for me. “It's the first door on the left, just past the stairs. I’ll give you a full tour later, Angel. This is your home now.”
His words make butterflies erupt in my stomach and tears sting the backs of my eyes. I don’t know what to say to that so I just nod my head. I haven’t had a place to call home since before King happened.
I know Snow says I will always have a place in her home, but this is different. It feels like my life is finally starting to move again. I’ve been running in place for years– now, this feels like progress.
Taking Ella’s hand, we head down a hallway I didn’t even know existed beyond the stairs. A beautiful set of French doors sits just where he said, the sleek black frame with distorted glass panels preventing us from seeing inside.
