“You need to forgive yourself, Ted. Winnie forgave you a long time ago, and you should do the same to yourself,” Mom says, assuring me.

“Will you ever forgive Dad?” I asked her, quite unsure of why I did.

“I don't know, Ted. I love your dad, but it will take time to forgive him,” she says, then shakes her head. Today is your day. Cheer up. Winnie needs you to be the best for her. I'll go join the guests now,” Mom says and walks out almost immediately. I ignore the tug in my chest.

Winnie requested we get married on her late father's land. She wanted a small and intimate wedding that would involve only close friends and family, and I totally agreed.

I ensured the place was totally cleared and decorated in the best way Winnie wanted, and I couldn't wait to see her reaction when she finds out that I had brought her dream to life.

I put on my tuxedo jacket and make my way downstairs where I meet my mom and my beautiful angels dressed like tiny princesses with flower baskets in their tiny hands. “Where is Winnie? I can't help but ask, as I look around nervously.

“You'll meet her soon, for now, we have to go,” mom says.

I wasn't sure that was the answer I needed but mom is here and my angels too.

“Look, Dada, grandma gave us flowers,” Isla says, holding up her tiny basket of sweet-smelling rose petals.

“Now that's my flower girl,” I say as I bend to kiss Isla on her cheek, and Luna after.

I led them to the car as they kept smelling the flowers GG gave to them.

I drive to the venue, and I smile at how beautiful it looks, just like the picture I had seen before.

I walk down the aisle, and quickly walk to where the priest stands, and I stand beside him, awaiting my bride, as I feel my heart tug loudly in my chest.

My eyes wandered around, searching for Winnie. I knew I was going to lose it if she disappeared.

My eyes land on my father, who is sitting behind my mom. He wears a light smile as our eyes meet, and I withdraw my gaze immediately.

I wonder what he wants from us, is he here to hurt Winnie again?

My father's presence arouses an uneasy feeling in me, I begin to think of where Winnie could be.

While I couldn't stop thinking about my life without Winnie, I didn't notice when the priest announced the bride's entry.

I look up to see Isla and Luna spreading flower petals on the ground as Austin holds Winnie's hand and walks up to the altar.

My breath catches in my throat as I stare at my bride in awe. She looks like a goddess, her smile beams through the white transparent veil she wears.

Her gown flows flawlessly, I watch her until she is close enough.

Austin places her hands on mine and I can swear that a surge of electricity runs through me, as I take her hand in mine.

Austin goes to his seat, taking the twins with him.

“You look like a pearl, you smell like a fresh flower, and you shine brighter than the sun,” I say while looking at Winnie.

“Why not try a cheesier line?” she asks, and I hold myself from laughing. “Okay, your turn?”

“Thank you, you look perfect too, just like our first night together.”

“Ou. That was smooth.” I whisper to her as we stand before the priest, facing each other.

The priest goes ahead with the procession and it's time to exchange our vows.

“Ted Gates,” Winnie starts with a smile, and I feel my heart flutter. I would say the universe blessed me with the best man I'll ever ask for,” she says, and I feel the back of my throat hurt.

“I've loved you since my twentieth birthday. Even with everything that happened, I don't think anything changed. How I knew nothing changed was the day I saw you after months, and my heart still did a flip flop like it did months ago.” She confesses, bringing a wide smile to my lips.
