“I couldn't ask for a better father for our babies and a better husband than you. I love you so much Ted Gates and I want to do forever with you.” She says and I feel my eyes tear up, as I squeeze her hand, saying I love you too.
“Winnie Gates…” I say, loving the sound of her name rolling off my lips.
“I do not have a lot to say, but all I want you to know is that I love you so much that if you could rip my heart, you'll see you own all of it.” I see her smile through the veil.
“You’re my life and I'll love you and our babies and the more babies we’ll make, forever.” I chuckle as I see the look of horror on her face when I mention more babies.
“I proclaim you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride,” The priest says.
I carefully unveil Winnie; she is my gift from heaven and I'm going to cherish her with my life.
I held her waist and drew her in, she held my arms and kissed me deeply,
I could hear the loud cheers coming from the guests.
The wedding is over, and the guests move to our house for the reception.
Winnie and I stepped in, and we were welcomed by our guests and families.
Winnie waves at someone, and a beautiful young lady walks up to us, not more beautiful than my wife though.
Winnie exchanges hugs. “Get me Austin please,” She whispers into my ears.
I don't know why she wanted him but I’m curious to know why.
I signaled one of the caterers to call Austin and he did so quickly.
Austin walks towards us.
“Hi Richelle,” Austin greets the lady beside Winnie, he smiles like a child and soon enough I understand what is happening,
Winnie taps on me as Austin walks away with Richelle, he turns and mouths a thank you to Winnie.
“He likes her. We met at the restaurant, and he's been going there often because of her,” she says, giggling.
The twins came to us, and everything just felt better.
Luna is holding a heart-shaped paper and Isla is a bar of chocolate.
“Mama, dada, we got this for you,” Luna gives a toothy smile, stretching the love paper to us and I grab it, “we love you so much,” Isla cuts in.
“Thank you so much, my babies.” Winnie has teary eyes. I kiss their forehead and they run off.
“Ted?” I hear a familiar voice behind me, and I take a deep breath before I turn over.
“Dr. Sam,” I say with grit teeth, as I turn to him.
“Ted, I am sorry,” He apologizes, “I made a mistake, I was selfish, and I regret it. Can I speak to Winnie, I want to apologize to her.”
I've never heard him apologize to anyone.
“No, you can't speak to her, neither can you see her,” I say with finality.
“Why not?” Winnie cuts in, as she shifts her attention to us.
She holds my arms and waits for a reply.
“I am so sorry, my child, I hurt you so bad and I shouldn't have. I'm asking for your forgiveness, I know I wasn't a good father but I'm ready to be a good grandfather,” My father says with sincerity in his eyes, the old Dr Sam, who always spoke with so much authority, is he really the one talking right now?
