I walk up to them, and Austin opens the door. After securing the girls safely in their seats at the back, I take my seat in the passenger seat in front and Austin drives us out.

The girls babble and play with their toys behind them. Austin and I shared a good laugh as we reminisced on old times.

Finally, Austin gets to the mall, gets down, and helps me unstrap the kids. He carries Luna, while I carry Isla and we head into the mall.

We step inside and head straight to the boutique. The security welcomes us in, and Isla and Luna squeal joyously as they see white ball gowns.

“Good day ma’am and sir,” the receptionist greets, I smile at her and ask for a wedding ball gown. She signals a shop attendant to assist us and then offers us seats.

Suddenly Luna starts crying that she wants a ball gown, Isla sees her sister in tears and joins her in crying.

I try to calm them down but it's just effortless, as their cries become louder.

Austin steps out and in no time, he is back with two lollipops. The girls stop crying immediately Austin hands the lollipop to them.

I and Austin begin to search for the right wedding dress for me, Austin is the first to speak.

“Are you going to tell me about it, or do you need more time?” I pause for a moment, trying to gather my thoughts, before replying, “That's why I asked you to join me here.” I heave out a sigh.

“I’m sorry I disappointed you, I kept this away from you, I lied and I’m really sorry.” I start, as we still look through the gowns.

“I was scared, I didn’t want to distract you, I knew you would have gotten really angry and abandoned your job, I wasn’t going to let you risk your future for mine.” I look up to him.

“I am sorry Austin,” I say, my voice cracking as Austin holds me close to himself, patting my head. “It's fine, Winnie, I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you, I’m sad you went through all of that by yourself. I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at myself for even letting you be here all by yourself.”

I break the hug as I hold Austin’s arms and smile. “You're here now, for me and your nieces, I’m grateful for your support and love, I’m fine now and I promise no more lies and no more secrets from now on.”

Isla interrupts with a babble, as she pulls on my dress, pointing at Luna who is sitting on the floor and her candy on the floor.

“Alright, that's enough candies for the day,” I say, carrying Isla up and walking up to Luna.

Austin sneaks out to buy dolls for them, while the attendant brings out a ball gown with diamond designs. I'm in love with it already.

I quickly take it to the room to try it on before Austin comes back in.

“You look extremely gorgeous,” he says as I come out of the dressing room and give him a spin.

“You look breathtaking, my dear.” He takes my hand and gives me a spin, and we both laugh.

I turn to see Isla and Luna playing with the dolls Austin got them, and a smile graces my face. No wonder they've been quiet.

“You like this one? he asks, fixing his gaze on the dress, “I love it, do you think Ted would like it too? I asked nervously.

“He’d be a donkey ass not to.” He says and I can't help but laugh out loud. “I mean you look like a queen,” he says, and I smile as I let Austin's words sink in.

I can still remember our childhood; he has always been my superhero. He always tried to make sure I was happy, and even when Dad passed away, he struggled to make us happy, now he's here helping me pick the perfect wedding dress.

We paid for the dress and headed out of the mall and back to the car.Austin decides to take us to a restaurant for breakfast.

We drove down to the nearest restaurant and made our way to an empty table.

The waitress walks towards us, and hands me and Austin the menu.

“Poached egg with a cup of tea for myself, plus two cereals and yogurt parfait for them,” I say, pointing at Isla and Luna.

“I'll take coffee and toasted bread,” Austin says and smiles at the waitress.

“Okay, I'll be back with your orders,” The waitress says as she takes the menus and leaves to get our breakfast.
