“Really?” I sit up straight, and bite down the groan, as I see my beautiful angels walk toward the bed.
“Mama!”They both call out simultaneously, as they climb up onto the bed.
“Oh wow, just mama?” I ask, feigning anger, as Winnie laughs with the girls in her arms.
“Just be my mine for now,” she says, stretching her hand to me, as her Diamond ring glistened.
“I so fucking love you,” I say, engulfing my girls in a big hug, as I thought about how lucky I was to have all this to myself.
CHAPTER 24
Winnie
The sunlight beams through the window, casting its rays of light into the room.
I'm awake already, quite excited, and nervous, and I tiptoe out of bed trying not to wake Ted up.
I step into the shower and in no time, I’m done. I have plans for the day and I do not think I want Ted to be part of it.
I wear a yellow flare gown that has floral patterns. It's a sunny day.
I look over at Ted, who is still sound asleep. He looks so perfect and innocent. I am grateful to him for saving his babies and officially wanting to make me his wife. I smile, staring at my giant rock for the umpteenth time.
I walked out of the room quietly and headed to the kitchen.
I met Ted’s mom in the kitchen, and she smiled at me.
Before the other day, Mrs. Grace Gates and I had never had a deep conversation, and if I remember correctly, I tried to avoid it then.
Maybe if we ever did, we would have found my baby sooner. But that is in the past.
I do feel sorry for her, I still do not know how exactly she feels but as much as she looks happy, there's always this sadness in her eyes.
It's been weeks without her husband, and I know she misses him, but she seems determined to cut ties with him.
I walk up to her and lean in to give her a warm hug. “Good morning, Mrs. Grace Gates,” I say, smiling widely as she plants a kiss on my cheek.
“I see you left Ted in the room, what are you up to today?” she asks.
“Well, Austin and I, along with the girls, are going shopping for my wedding dress, and I want it to be a surprise,” I said, giggling.
But first I must take coffee, we have to sneak out of the house, you know they can be all loud and uncontrollable, ever since Isla and Luna connected, it’s been incredible and crazy, but Ted enjoys seeing them all over the house.
I finished my cup of coffee and headed to Isla and Luna’s room. My babies were already up, and for some reason, Austin, my brother, was also in the room having a chit-chat with them when I walked in.
“What do we have here? Some uncle and nieces bonding moment? Hmm, I see, without me that’s so bad.” I say frowning,
“Mama!” Luna squeals, raising her hand to the air as she sees me, while Isla makes an excited babble.
“Aw. My babies,” I say as I lift Luna to my body and bend to kiss Isla on the forehead and cheeks.
Austin smiles at me as he watches me take the girls to the bathroom. I know he has a lot on his mind, a lot he wants to know, and I feel today should be the right time to explain all of it to him.
I quickly finish with the girls in the shower and start dressing them.
Isla picked a blue bow and tried putting it on her hair, and Luna picked a yellow bow and handed it over to me. I fixed the bows on their heads, and we were done.
Austin is already waiting for us. The girls see him and begin running towards the car by which Austin stands. I watched him open his arms, trying to accommodate them.
