“I love you, Teo.” He responds, before settling on the other side of the bed.
Aurora crawls up my body, kissing along my jaw. “Goodnight, I love you.” She whispers against my lips.
“I love you too, Peach.” I kiss her before she slides off of me and lays her head on Enzo’s chest.
He tilts her chin up to kiss her. “I love you.” She smiles up at him.
“I love you.” He grins and grabs Luna’s arm. “I love you, Goblin.” He pulls her face down so he can kiss her.
“I love you.” She smiles against his lips, then kisses Aurora as well. “I love you, Peach. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Luna. I love you!” Rory replies.
Luna climbs over them to snuggle in against my chest. “I love you, Daddy.” She beams and kisses my nipple.
Wiping her hair from her face, I kiss her forehead. “I love you, Baby Girl.”
As per usual, Enzo’s snores are the first to fill the room, quickly followed by both girls. I’m always the last to fall asleep, needing to make sure everyone I love is safe before finally closing my eyes.
I’m startled awake by the sound of wood breaking. I try to sit up and look around, but my wrist is handcuffed to the bed.
“When I find those two, they’re going to be sorry.” Enzo shouts. “I’m fucking tired of being tied to beds.”
Laughing, I jiggle the restraints. “I can’t say this has ever happened to me before.”
He digs through the nightstand until he finds the key to the cuffs. Once I’m free, we quickly dress so we can go find the girls. If they locked us both up, there’s a great chance that they’re off to do something they know we wouldn’t approve of.
“Mornin’ boss.” Travis drawls once we reach the bottom of the steps.
“Where the fuck have they run off to this time, Travis?” I snap.
“They said they were meeting Rae for brunch. They left a note on the counter, boss.” He pulls the paper from his pocket and hands it to me. Holding it in front of me, so Enzo can read too; I quickly skim the letter before folding it back up and putting it in my pocket.
“Why the hell would they handcuff us to the bed if they’re only going for brunch?” Enzo asks, just as puzzled as I am.
I pull my phone from my pocket and call Aurora. She answers on the third ring.
“Good morning, my love.” She chuckles, “Did you sleep comfortably?”
“I slept just fine, Peach. Waking up to the headboard being broken was less than ideal, though.”
She giggles before responding. “Sorry about that, it was just a prank.”
“Pranks are usually funny.” I grumble. “There is nothing funny about waking up cuffed to a bed when your girls are hell bent on pissing off a psychopath.” Laughter is all I hear through the speaker. “Are you drunk, Aurora?”
“OOPS, gotta go. We’ll be home in a bit. Love you!” Luna shouts over Aurora’s laughter.
“Those are YOUR girls.” Enzo shakes his head.
“I can feel my hair turning gray.” After walking into the kitchen, I open the fridge. “How do omelet’s sound?”
“I’ll cut the peppers and onions.” His smile drops as he looks at his phone. “The tracker shows they’re at Ihop.”
“Who the fuck drives almost two hours away for brunch?” I slam the fridge closed and grab my keys from the hook with Enzo right behind me. “They’re up to something, let’s go find out what it is.”
