Prologue

Mateo

I never wanted to be a part of the Mafia. My father Mathias is the Don, so I didn’t think I had much of a choice. I accepted my fate as a teenager, but as soon as my 19th birthday hit, I knew I wanted no part of it. I wanted to leave this life behind me and spend the rest of my days with my boyfriend and 2 girlfriends.

When I decided to leave, Mathias was furious and decided to kidnap my girl Luna. He had her for 3 fucking weeks before we found her and got her back. His fate was sealed after that, and I won’t stop until he’s dead.

A business associate of his fucked around and betrayed him. So to save his own ass, he tried to sell his own daughter to Mathias. If that bastard married Rae, he would have his hand in not only the Mafia, but multiple businesses owned by Rae’s father. Rae ran from him until last year when Mathias found out that she had a twin sister named Olivia. Mathias wanted to marry one of the Bertelli twins, he didn’t care which one it was, so he kidnapped Olivia, infuriating their father.

Long story short, Olivia ended up shooting Rae in the shoulder, which allowed us to fake her death. We scooped her up after she was shot, took her to get sewn up, and let her kill her own sister. We had a funeral where she was disguised as Olivia so we could take down her parents. With the rest of her family dead, we knew Mathias wasn’t going to just stop since Rae would be inheriting her fathers companies. She sold absolutely everything to a rival family in Italy, further enraging Mathias.

It’s been a year now, and there’s been nothing happening in that department. I’ve been working with my cousin Antonio to shift the power to him once my father is gone. I think we’re finally ready to put our plan into motion, we just need to somehow lure Mathias to us.

My women are happy in Pennsylvania, so that’s where we’ve been living. They still talk to Rae quite often, and have even made another annoying ass friend, Nyx. I swear she does things just to see if she can piss me off. Every time she shows up at the house she kicks somebody’s ass, but my girls have warned the security guards that if they lay a finger on her, there will be hell to pay.

If I had it my way, she would be at the bottom of the ocean already, but I refuse to hurt my girls like that, so Enzo and I suffer through her bullshit. I think Enzo is starting to get a soft spot for her. Just the other night, I caught him in the kitchen laughing alongside them. As soon as I walked in, he stopped. Nyx patted him on the head and said, “That’s right, twist them panties back up as soon as Daddy gets here.” I didn’t stick around to hear anything after that. I need to focus on getting my father here so I can end this shit once and for all.

After everything is taken care of, we’ll be able to have our wedding. It’s not traditional in any sense since we’re all sleeping with each other, but the girls want a wedding, so that’s what they’re going to get. One night, they decided to grab 2 sheets of paper, write the guys names on one sheet and the girls names on the other.

Then they spun a pencil on top of them, and whichever names it landed on, that’s who was getting married. The pencil landed on Luna and Enzo, so they’ll marry each other , and I’ll marry Aurora. They decided that they want us all to have the same last name, so we went with Enzo’s, that way I’m completely rid of the Rossi name. Mathias always said, ‘You pay as you play; eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.’ His payment will be made in blood.

Chapter 1

Luna

I quickly blow Mateo a kiss as I climb out of the passenger seat of his Escalade. He’s still upset with Aurora and I for the shenanigans we pulled yesterday. When Rae came to visit, we started asking her questions that we’re not supposed to have the answers to. Last week, we overheard Mateo talking to her on the phone, asking questions about the Wicklow brothers. So, when we were alone with her, we asked who they were and why Teo was curious about them.

According to Rae, there are four of them, and you don’t want to get on their bad side. They aren’t actually brothers, but adopted by the same family. I asked how I could get a meeting with them and Rae stormed out of the room to rat us out to Mateo and Lorenzo.

After Teo lost his shit on me, I left and asked a random guy on the street if he knew where I could find the Wicklow boys. He told me about the restaurant they eat at every night and warned me not to go there unless I’m absolutely sure I know what I’m doing.

Imagine my shock when I stop outside the restaurant and see my fiance, sitting at a table with four of the biggest men I have ever seen. Lorenzo is six feet tall and built like a brick shit house, but these guys make him look like a teenager. One of them stands from the table and walks toward the door. I turn to walk away, but my arm is grabbed and I’m spun into a brick wall. Or at least that’s what it feels like. I don’t think there’s an ounce of fat on this guy.

“Are you here for a fuck or a favor?” He says as he releases my arm.

“Neither,” I swallow the lump in my throat, craning my neck to look at him. “You’re really fucking tall!”

“Very funny. So I assume Karrion sent you to piss me off?”

“No, no, no,” I shake my head and take a few steps back, “I don’t know who that is. I’m just here for my fiance.”

“Fiance?” He quirks a brow at me, “Who might that be?”

“His name is Enzo. You were just sitting with him.”

“What the fuck is going on here?” Mateo’s voice booms from behind me. “You have two fucking seconds to step away from my woman, or you’ll be dead before you hit the ground.”

I spin to face Mateo, but the brick wall grabs me again. Leaning down so we’re eye level, he snarls at me, “I don’t fucking like liars!”

I put my left arm out behind me to stop Mateo and attempt to push the wall back with my right arm. He doesn’t budge.

“I didn’t fucking lie to you!” I shout at him. “There’s four of us, and we’re all together.” Mateo pushes my hand away and presses his chest against my back.

“Interesting.” The guy straightens before taking a step back. “Rune Wicklow.” He says, extending his hand to Mateo.

“Mateo Rossi. Don’t ever get in her face like that again.” Teo responds as he shakes Rune’s hand.

“It’s best if you get the threats out of the way now. My brother doesn’t take kindly to shit like that.” He turns to look inside the restaurant, pointing at his brothers. “Since it looks like we’re going to be well acquainted, you should know their names. The one on the left is Silas, he’s our hacker. In the middle is Alaric, he’s practically a ghost. He could kill you with his bare hands before you even realize he’s there.” He smiles down at me before returning his attention to his last brother. “The last one is Karrion. Avoid him. Don’t make eye contact, don’t smile, try not to even breathe toward him.”
