“I’m here now. And I bought a new phone. So, it’s all good.” He put his fingers on my jaw and turned my face toward him, leaning in and slowly caressing my lips with his. My face flushed as I felt the familiar surge of energy I got every time he touched me. His touch was never going to fail to turn me on.

His other hand slowly slipped around my waist, running the tips of his fingers up my spine. I moaned a little against his mouth, and he pulled me closer, biting at my bottom lip and then soothing it with firm strokes of his tongue.

“Do you have a spray bottle?” Kristine asked loudly. “They’re eating each other again.”

“Guys. It’s time,” Sam laughed, and we broke apart. Panting and staring at each other.

“Do we have to? Think we can sneak out of here?” I whispered as I leaned close to his ear.

He chuckled and leaned in close to mine. “I came all this way to help you do this. Shouldn’t we go ahead since we’re here?”

“Hmmm...”

His lips caressed the edge of my earlobe. “I promise I’ll make it up to you tonight. I packed something fun in my suitcase.”

I pulled back and bit my lip while I stared into his eyes. “I did too.”

“Come on,” Kristine sighed. “You two can eye-fuck each other later.”

Sam leaned over and whispered something in her ear, and her cheeks turned pink. “We’ll see you up there in a few. I can’t promise this one won’t return with reinforcements if you try to run off.”

“I’m willing to bet those reinforcements will be your sister,” I laughed as Evan looked over wide-eyed.

“They totally will be. She’s relentless,” he confirmed.

“But she brought you back to me.” I kissed his cheek and stood up, straightening my dress and running a hand through my hair.

“You look beautiful,” he said, smiling softly, and I blushed under his affectionate gaze.

“Hopefully I don’t look like I’ve been fooling around in the back of a bookstore,” I laughed as I ran one hand down the side of his head and flattened out where I’d messed up his hair.

“The whole room saw us making out less than fifteen minutes ago. Fairly sure our cover is blown.”

We held hands as we walked through the aisles of shelving, finally appearing behind the table where Diana awaited us.

“So, they did find you,” she teased as she gestured for us to sit down.

A tall, curvy brunette stood on the other side of the room, talking to Kristine. She looked over at us and waved as she saw us. That must be Kelly. I was a little scared of what those two would come up with together.

“I’ll go make the announcement. You two get your signing arms stretched and ready to go.” Diana walked to the podium, announcing we were ready to start signing books.

The small line that was already formed started to move up, and others from around the room joined it. Evan nervously bounced his leg next to me, and I put my hand on his thigh to try to calm him.

“You okay?”

He nodded, his eyes wide. “Yeah, I’m out of practice.”

“You’ll do great,” I winked. “Just fake it till you make it, baby.”

“I’ll try.” He blew out a breath and nodded, picking up his pen.

The first person in line was one of Evan’s die-hard fans. He’d read all his work.

“Stone, it’s such an honor to meet you. I’ve read every book you’ve ever written,” he told Evan enthusiastically.

“Oh wow. Thank you for being so supportive.”

“Man, between you and me...” He leaned over the table as Evan wrote a message on the book cover. “I’ve been writing online under an alias for a while now, and I finally had the guts to start writing some sexier content when you branched out.”
