I laughed as she scowled. He was a bit of a pig, but I’d gotten used to his antics over the years. Still didn’t like them, but I was better at ignoring them now.

“Oh!” I gasped.

“Yes?” she asked with an indulgent smile.

“You’ll never guess who I ran into at the market.”

“Someone both of us know?” She looked confused.

“You could say that.” I nodded.

“Alright, I give up,” she shrugged as she smiled at me.

“Isobel. At least, I’m fairly sure it was her. I’ve only ever talked to her on the phone. And through emails.”

Her eyes widened. “Did she recognize you?”

“Maybe, I kind of blew her off,” I shrugged.

“Bet she loved that,” she laughed.

“But it gets better,” I told her eagerly.

She motioned for me to go on.

“She got an interesting phone call I overheard.”

“Do tell...” Chase encouraged as she leaned forward with her elbows propped on the island, with a look of open curiosity.

“She was talking to a man, and then she mentioned his name.”

“Ohh! Juicy!” Her eyes lit up.

“She told Adrian she’d be back soon to continue where they left off last night.”

Her mouth dropped open. “Oh, my God! I’ll have to call Kristine to get the dirt! I always knew he had a thing for her!”

Flipping the pancake onto a plate, I winked as I slid a plate across the island to her. “I’ve got a thing for you.”

“You put that thing away,” she laughed as she peeked over the edge of the counter.

“Fine. I see how it is.” I grabbed my briefs off the stool where I’d left them. I bent over to put them on and...

“Hey! I didn’t say you could put those on!” She whacked me in the fleshy part of my ass with her new toy, and I jumped forward.

“Getting into character already?” I laughed.

“Should I bring this with us this afternoon?” she giggled.

“Well...” I mused, leaning against the counter on my elbows. “You should probably break it in first. Just to make sure it works properly.”

“I will...” she mumbled, her eyes lighting up despite a mouth full of sausage links. “But first,I need to eat your meat.”

Evan almost choked on a piece of his pancakes as he cracked up laughing. I smiled as I finished chewing. Naked chef time was a fun way to wake up.
