“What are you talking about?” I asked incredulously. I acted like a jealous asshole, and she wanted me to channel my anger.
“For the rough scenes, Kallie and the detective are furious with each other, right?”
Holy shit. She wanted me to push her up against a wall. My heart took off for another reason. Should we do this?
“Chase, I don’t know if this...” I trailed off as I felt beads of sweat pop up along my hairline.
“Don’t overthink it. Just do it,” she whispered, her eyes barely concealing her excitement.
“I...” Once again, I was at a total loss for words.
She took my hand, stroking her thumb across my fingers. I searched her eyes, and I didn’t see any hesitation. She was completely serious.
Our joined hands gently raised to her throat, and she moved my hand to grip it softly.
“Do I have to do the dialogue?”
She smiled at me and winked. “If that helps you.”
I closed my eyes and flexed my hand on her neck as I tried to get myself into the character. The gasp she let out solidified it for me, and my cock throbbed in anticipation.
I could do this. She was suggesting this, so it had to be consensual on her part.
“Safe word?”
Her neck jerked in my hand, and she started laughing hysterically.
“Stop it. I don’t want to take it too far. Please. Just give me something to work with here.”
“Barbie,” she smirked.
“What the––seriously?”
She never failed to entertain me.
“Okay. You’re making this too hard,” she rolled her eyes and held her hand on top of mine, trying to get me to concentrate.
“That’s what he said!” I laughed.
“No man would ever say that.” She rolled her eyes again. “Quit screwing around and fuck me.”
Well, alright then...
I took several deep breaths and slowly blew them out with my eyes closed.
The scene in Kallie’s apartment near the climax of the book started running through my head like a movie.
“I can’t fucking believe you!”
My eyes snapped open and locked onto hers. There was excitement there and a little bit of fear. I felt myself dropping more into the character of Detective Raines and wondered if this was how actors felt.
“I don’t see what the problem is. I got the information you wanted!”
I scoffed as I gripped the side of her neck firmly and pushed her back toward the wall next to the front door.
“I didn’t tell you to use yourself as bait!” I shouted as I tried to channel my earlier anger.
“I was fine. I’m a big fucking girl, detective,” she spat. “I can handle myself.”
