“I think we’re gonna have to do it one at a time,” Levi said. “Pretty much everyone saw Evie pissed at us when we got back, and if we let everyone think that’s why she left, whoever did this won’t know we’re on to them. We don’t want them running.”
“Do you think it’s possible someone snuck in the way Evie got out?” I asked. “That it’s not an inside job?”
Levi shook his head. “They would’ve had to know which room was mine if I’m the target, or one of ours if Evie’s the target. Even if someone from outside with access to the clubhouse planted the camera, someone had to point out where our rooms are.”
I nodded. I’d been thinking the same thing. There really wasn’t any other way it could’ve happened.
“You fucking bitch.”
Levi and I both turned toward Tucker who’d been sitting quietly, his laptop in front of him.
“Something you wanna share?” I asked.
“I won’t bore you with the technical details of how I found this,” Tucker said as he turned his laptop toward us. “Just watch.”
Levi and I watched in silence as the video began to play. It was shaking for a moment, and then steadied, bringing Levi’s room into focus. It moved again as it was being placed on the shelf where we’d found it, and then a face moved in front of the camera.
A face I definitely knew.
“Mother fucking bitch.” Levi shook his head.
I didn’t bother saying anything. I just headed for the door.
“Where are you going?” Tucker asked.
“To find Rikki.”
When Levi didn’t tell me no, I kept going. No one really paid any attention to me as I stepped into the main room and paused, looking around. It didn’t take me long to spot that brassy blonde hair. She was curled up against one of the prospects and I made a mental note that we might need to question him too. Right now, however, she was the only one I wanted to talk to.
“Rikki.”
She looked up, offering me a sultry smile. “Hey there, Mason. Looking for a little company?”
“My brothers and I would like a word with you.”
Several emotions flashed across her face, and I saw her glance toward the door.
“Don’t make a scene,” I warned. “I don’t care how many of these men you’ve fucked. Their loyalty is to the club.”
I was taking a risk saying it that way, since I didn’t know for sure that none of the guys were involved, but the scowl that twisted her lips and the color that flooded her face told me I was probably right.
“Let’s go.”
When she still didn’t move, I reached down and grabbed her arm, yanking her out of her seat and half dragging her back to Levi’s office. I could feel eyes on me, but no one made a move to help her or even ask what was going on. When we got inside, I shoved her toward the empty chair, closed the door, and planted myself right in front of it.
“I don’t know nothing,” she insisted.
“We have you on video,” Tucker said, showing her the frozen image of her face. “Wanna change your tune?”
Something ugly twisted her expression. “I didn’t fuck and suck my way through every man in this stupid club just to stay a slut until I’m too old for anyone to want. I paid my fucking dues, and then this whore comes strolling in here and has you three wrapped around her little finger with a smile.”
I gritted my teeth to keep from doing or saying something I’d regret. If she was a man, I’d break her nose for saying that shit about Evie, but I didn’t hit women for insults.
“So, yeah, when Clayton Pierce came up to me at Rocky’s the other night and asked me if I wanted to get rid of her, I agreed to help him.” She folded her arms and glared up at me. “And it worked, didn’t it? She’s gone, and you’re here. Clearly she doesn’t have what it takes to roll with the Thunder Riders.”
I looked at Levi, already knowing what he was going to say.
“Get. Out.”
