With my body still quivering with pleasure, my head dropped forward until my forehead rested on his shoulder. I had no idea what this meant, but for right now, I was just going to bask in the afterglow of the most intense orgasm I’d ever experienced—and try not to think too hard about who had given it to me.

Chapter Fourteen

Tucker

Iheard her coming down the hall but didn’t look away from the pancakes I was making.

“Tucker? What are you doing here?”

I looked over my shoulder and used the spatula to point at the table. “Sit. I’ll bring you something to eat.”

“Is Levi around?” she asked as she sat.

She was trying to sound casual, but the way her cheeks were turning red told me that what I’d suspected after talking to Levi this morning was true. Well, talking to him and finding a used condom in the bathroom garbage.

“He was up all night making sure whoever broke in didn’t come back.” I slid three perfectly golden pancakes onto a plate. “Did some cleaning up too.”

“I was going to do that,” she said, her blush getting darker.

“Well, I finished what he didn’t get done by the time I got here at dawn.” I sat down next to her with my own plate. “Then I figured I’d make breakfast.”

“Thank you,” she said quietly before starting on her food.

“I figured you’d need to replace all the calories you burned up last night.”

Her fork hit her plate with a clatter. “What?”

I grinned at her. “Come on, did you really think I wouldn’t figure out that something happened between you and Levi? I might not be Jenna, but I know you, Evie. And I know Levi.”

“Did he tell you anything?”

I shook my head. “Not a word.”

“I’m sorry,” she blurted out.

“For what?”

Confusion replaced her guilty expression. “You and I…well, you know.”

“Yeah, but it’s not like we made any promises,” I said. When I saw a flash of hurt, I hurried to explain better. “I don’t mean that in a bad way. Just that you didn’t break any promises.”

“And you’re not mad?” she asked.

“Nope.” I ate a bit of pancake before I decided to take the plunge. “I’m actually kinda relieved.”

“Relieved? I don’t understand.”

“I love my brother, but he can be a real moody bastard sometimes.”

“I’ve noticed,” she said dryly.

“Well, if he had to stand back and watch Mason and me getting all of your attention, he’d be pissed.”

“What makes you think that?” she asked.

I gave myself a mental high five when she didn’t even blink at the “Mason and me” comment, and then I answered her question. “Levi clearly has a thing for you.”

“What?!”
