“Hey.” Levi gave me a rare smile. “Lara said she thought you’d be up and around today.” He gestured toward the chair across from him. “Your, uh, late night activities didn’t reinjure anything, then?”

I laughed. “Actually, I think it helped. You know me. After something like that, even hurt, I would’ve been in here wanting to know what we were doing next. And if you sent me to my room by myself, I never would’ve been able to sleep.”

“And last night?”

“Slept like a baby.” I grinned and let us have that moment that brothers sometimes had when it came to beautiful women. It didn’t last, though, because we had shit to do. Pushing thoughts of Evie from my mind, I asked, “What’d I miss?”

“Junkyard’s shoulder is back where it belongs,” Levi began. “But he’s gotta take it easy for a while. And that’s not just coming from the doctor and Lara. His old lady threatened to cut off his balls if he did anything stupid.”

I opened my mouth to say something rude about Junkyard’s balls, but my phone rang. It was Jenna’s ringtone, and since she was more likely to text than call, it meant something was up.

“Hey, Jenna.” I put my phone on speaker.

“Finally. It’s about time one of you idiots picked up.” The annoyance in her voice had something else mixed with it. “I’ve been trying to get ahold of Evie and she wasn’t answering, so I called Levi and Tucker. I should’ve known to call you first.”

“Nice to know I’m last on your list.”

“Tucker texted me about you getting shot last night, asshole,” she snapped.

“Sorry I didn’t pick up.” Levi jumped in before she could bite my head off. Something was wrong. “And Evie’s with Tucker, so I don’t think either of them are going to be answering the phone for a while.”

“Well, someone’s going to need to interrupt because if someone else tells Evie first, it’s gonna be worse.”

“Tells Evie what?” I asked, my stomach sinking.

“I’m sending you both a news link. Read it and then go talk to her. Tell her to call me.” Jenna ended the call and a moment later, a text came through.

I read the headline and cursed. This was bad. No matter who told Evie, it wasn’t going to go over well. Hopefully, hearing it from us would be better than getting caught off guard when someone in the MC or one of the sluts decided to ask her about it.

I looked at Levi and saw the same grim expression on his face.

“I hope the two of them are done, because we can’t wait on this.”

I nodded my agreement, and the two of us headed for Tucker’s room.

Chapter Twenty-One

Evie

Tucker and I were lying side by side, but neither of us had managed to leave the bed, even to clean up. He’d barely managed to roll over and throw away the condom, and I didn’t see my legs being able to work anytime soon.

These Bradshaw boys were going to kill me.

A knock at the door jolted me out of the pleasant haze that surrounded us.

“Tucker, Evie.” Mason’s voice had heat flooding my face. “We need to talk.”

Another knock. “It’s important.”

Tucker sighed at Levi’s voice and, to my shock, got out of bed and walked over to the door, still completely naked. When he opened the door, I grabbed the sheets and pulled them up to cover my breasts. I might’ve had sex with all three of them, but I definitely wasn’t at the level of being comfortable while casually naked.

“What’s up?” Tucker asked.

“Evie needs to know this too.” Mason sounded serious and that freaked me out.

Dozens of possible scenarios ran through my mind, all of the bad things that could’ve happened while I was in here, having sex with yet another guy. While I was still feeling self-conscious about being naked, I needed to know what was going on.

Tucker glanced back at me, which I appreciated, and I nodded. I held the sheet tighter against me as Levi and Mason came into the room, closing the door behind them. The fact that neither of them seemed to even notice that Tucker and I were both naked would’ve been funny under other circumstances, but nothing about what had been going on around us was normal.
