I nod. “I’m on the pill.”

He grunts, and the grip on my ass tightens as he plunges inside me.

Chapter 6

Nadia

“Oh wow, that’s fab news,” I say to my mother after finding out my grandpa is over the worst and the doctor is considering releasing him from the hospital. “I’ll be home by mid-afternoon. I want to visit him later.”

“Did you have an enjoyable time with Oscar?” Mom asks. I know she loves him. Since I got home, she hasn’t stopped gushing about him, practically cooing with delight.

“Yeah.” With a smile, I acknowledge Oscar as he wraps his arms around me and presses his lips gently against my neck.

“That’s nice.,” Mom says.

“I looked after your daughter for you,” he leans over and says into my cell.

“You are a good boy, Oscar.”

“He is Mom,” I say, grinning at Oscar.

“Much nicer than Dominic. Maybe you two should move out of the friend zone.”

I swallow. We weren’t in the friend zone last night, or this morning.

I catch Oscar staring at me as I finish the conversation, his eyes drilling a hole into the side of my head.

“Who’s Dominic?” he asks the moment I disconnect.

His jaw clenches so hard he might break a tooth.

“An ex. Why?”

“Why didn’t I know about this... this Dominic?” His nostrils flare.

“Why should you?” My voice hitches up a notch. “Yes, you were stalking me, but I never put my private on display.”

“How long?” His voice is deep. He clears it quickly. “How long were you seeing him?”

I chuckle. “You sound like you’re my boyfriend and I’ve just cheated on you.”

“How long?” he growls.

“Two years.”

He closes his eyes and exhales, feeling the warm air escape from his lungs because his face is so close to mine. “You had someone. Did you love him?”

“I should go home,” I say as I walk away and to the bedroom. I grab my clothes off the chair.

He silently follows. I only realize when he takes my clothes from my hands and puts them back on top of the chair. “You never answered me.”

I turn to face him, my eyes meet his intense gaze. “I don’t know. I thought I did. I thought he loved me, but he never opened up to me. Honestly, I’ve never longed for him the way I did for you.”

He crooks his finger at me, silently urging me to come closer.

Stealthily making my way towards him, I finally reach his side, only to be startled when he unexpectedly lifts me off the ground and hurries towards the bed.

“What are you doing?” I ask as pale blue eyes stare down at me.
