I’m still confused but exhausted, so at least that’s something.
After showering and dressing, I find the guys have woken up and left my room, so I head downstairs. Trav is in the kitchen, wearing some workout shorts that display every hard inch of his body. His hair is still wet and pushed back, and apart from his nose ring, all his earrings and rings are gone. He almost looks naked.
He appears softer, but no less beautiful, and I sink into a chair, just watching him as I try to sort out my thoughts, my plan, and what I should do. I want to ask them to help me, but they are the ones I’m confused about.
“Where are Chase and Kolt?” I ask softly.
He jumps and whirls around. “Jesus, baby, make some noise,” he mutters, shaking his head with a smile. “Showering.” He heads my way and kisses me softly, which only confuses me more. “Morning. Good workout?”
I nod mutely, and he eyes me before heading back to the counter, where he starts to cook what looks like a breakfast sandwich. “I’ll make you one,” he says without asking, “then we can figure out the plan for today. Sound good?”
I nod again, but he doesn’t see. He starts humming as I stare at him.
I can’t do this.
It’s too much. I’m too fucking lost.
I just need . . . I need this to be over.
“I think we should break up,” I murmur.
The knife stops for a moment before he continues cutting. “You want cheese?”
“I said I think we should break up,” I repeat louder, my heart aching so much I struggle to breathe.
“No,” is all he says as he carries on making sandwiches.
“No? No, you can’t just say no.” I gape.
He turns and looks at me over his shoulder. “No. Now do you want cheese or not?”
I stare for a moment, and his eyebrow arches. “Cheese, please,” I mutter.
“Good girl.” He winks and turns back around, whistling.
What in the fuck just happened?
The confusion snaps me out of my spiral, and when he hands me my food, I just nod.
I eat my sandwich in silence, barely tasting it, and when I’m done, he clears the plates and washes up. I watch him the entire time. When he dries his hands, he comes over and presses them to either side of my chair, bracketing me in. “I know you want to run, Beck, but we won’t let you. We are together. We are a band, and we are dating, whether you want to admit it or not. We aren’t letting you go, so do whatever you have to do with that anxiety you feel, but don’t push us away. It won’t work. Yesterday was a lot, so go easy on yourself.” He kisses my forehead and stands as Chase comes in with just a towel around his waist.
“Shit, did I miss breakfast?” he asks.
“You already had yours.” Trav smirks, winking at me.
Chase grins, his dimple showing, as he takes me in. I’m plastered against the chair, no doubt looking bewildered. “What did you do to her?”
“Just gave her some honest truths. She thought we could break up.” Trav snorts.
Chase simply laughs, pouring a mug of coffee before leaning against the counter.
Kolton enters just then. “What’s so funny?” he asks.
“Beck tried to break up with us,” Chase tells him, still grinning. I gape, looking between all of them.
“Hmm.” He pours himself a drink and turns to me. “I suppose we didn’t officially ask her to be our girlfriend, so she can’t break up with us.”
His eyes sparkle, and I jump to my feet, pointing at all of them. “You are all fucked in the head.”
