He couldn’t take it anymore. Lowering her to her feet, he pushed her pants down her legs. Black lace panties filled his vision as he bent to yank the pants from her feet, spurring his desire to have her heat on his tongue again. Later. Now, he needed to be eight inches deep inside her. He stood, and Cam’s hands went to his belt buckle, loosening it. Pink coated her cheeks, making her look as if she’d just run a marathon. Her lowered lids revealed her arousal. Freeing his cock from his briefs, he hiked her back into position and pushed her panties aside.

Ding-dong

He pulled his head away and looked up, as if he could see through the damn floors. “Shit.”

Cam let out a huff and wiggled out of his hold. “I told you,” she hissed, but her tone lacked malice.

He smacked her butt, buckled up his pants, and climbed the stairs with her in tow. Great. Now he’d have blue balls the whole time his brother-in-law was around. At the front door, he quickly checked the peephole. Behind Nash stood a few other guys. What the—? He turned the lock.

“Hey,” he said, opening the door wide. Cam’s arm slithered around his elbow. Even with an audience, he’d still fuck her against the wall.

Nash grinned in greeting. “Hope you don’t mind I brought my bootlicking brothers with me.”

The guy standing at Nash’s height with short brown hair and gray eyes similar to Nash’s shoved Nash in the shoulder. “You’re such a tool.”

“This dufus is Dare. He’s a pain in the ass, smart with computers and nightclubs, but that’s about it,” he said, jerking his head toward the man directly behind him.

Dare extended his hand and Brooks shook it. “Ignore my brother. He’s the baby and never fails to act like it.”

Brooks laughed and turned his attention to the man standing farther back. Brooding eyes as dark as coals stared back at him.

“This is Cole,” Nash said, gesturing over his shoulder. “He’s as friendly as he looks.”

Cole stepped forward and shook Brooks’s hand then nodded a hello to Cam. She curled a little tighter into Brooks’s side as he stepped back and welcomed them in. Which was silly, since it was Nash’s house and he hadn’t even had to ring the doorbell. “Thanks for coming.”

Cam dropped his arm and led the way into the kitchen. “I made some food. I didn’t know so many of you would be here,” she said, sauntering ahead of the brothers. Brooks cringed. Jealousy stung his guts.

Stupid. He had nothing to be jealous about. Cam was a temporary fixture. Once he committed murder, she might want nothing to do with him, despite what she’d said downstairs. He followed them into the kitchen as Cam tore open a package of paper plates. “I made sandwiches, guacamole, and there’s hummus, too.” She passed each of the brothers a plate.

“You didn’t have to go to the trouble,” Nash said, diving into a sandwich. “But I’m glad you did.”

Brooks came around the counter and stood close enough to Cam that the guys wouldn’t question whether she was with him. He assumed Nash was loyal to Lexi, but Cole and Dare might be single and interested.

“I remember Lexi mentioning two of you are twins,” she said, looking at the three men, her brow drawn low as she examined their features.

Dare chortled. “That’s Cole and Dallas. Dallas is gone a lot, so we don’t see much of him. Where’s he now?” Dare asked, turning to face Cole.

“Belize, I think.” Cole piled food on his plate. “Are we going to get to work or what?”

Nash rolled his eyes toward Cam, as if to soften Cole’s abruptness. “Dare did the hard work for us already.”

Brooks leaned on the counter. His stomach rumbled, but he couldn’t eat until they had a plan. It was already late afternoon. In order to make a move on Conrad, they had to get their ducks in a row now. “And that is?”

Nash swung his head to Dare, who was stuffing food in his mouth. “Sorry,” Dare said. “This is good. What’s in the sandwich?”

Cole elbowed him.

“What? Tess would like these.”

Cam chuckled, breaking some of the tension in Brooks’s chest. “It’s hummus and cucumber.”

“Mmm,” Dare mused. “Now that’s something I could make.”

“Stay on track,” Cole barked.

Dare licked his fingers and picked up his third halved sandwich. “Conrad was released on a two-hundred-thousand-dollar bail. Apparently, he’s not deemed a flight risk. He’s awaiting trial. Date’s set for September 28.”

“That’s three months away,” Cam said.
