“Baby, I…”

“So good like this,” he murmured as we moved slow.

“Yes.”

We rocked away, on our sides and face to face. His lips at my throat, over my heated chest, and back to my mouth, I treated him in the same fashion, gently biting wherever I saw fit. As I nipped a particular spot over James’ pulse point, he let out a satisfied, “Ohh,” and grabbed my jaw to lock my eyes on his. His grey smoldered as he kept me there, our tempo quickened, and he crooned, “So fucking good like this.”

The noises we made were pleading as our movements into each other turned desperate, and I caught his lips for one open-mouthed kiss before exhaling:

“Are you right there for me?”

He thrust harder. “Fuck, yes.”

Our tongues met roughly. I moaned into his mouth, and James brought us further, rolling me so I was on my back. I wrapped my legs around his waist, and he sank in deep, driving into me with enough force for the headboard to smack the wall over and again.

“Shit!”

“You like it hard like this?”

“Yes!”

“Cassie, fuck.” Grabbing each of my wrists, he firmly planted my palms on the wood above me. “Put those there.”

He let me go and reached up for the molding that was scraping against the drywall, pulling against it to cease its smacking as he used it for leverage to move faster. Harder. My hungry eyes dragged over him as the muscles in his arms flexed underneath his tattoos with every movement. I removed one of my hands from the headboard and—careful not to scratch—trailed it from his chest, over his abdomen, and down to my clit, nearly crying:

“God!”

His vocal cords rumbled, and as if he could take the sight of me touching myself no longer without closing the distance between us, he dropped back down to smash his mouth against mine.

“Are you gonna squeeze around my cock, Cassie?”

His filthy words were a jolt straight to the apex of my thighs, and I gasped, “Yes.”

“Do it.” James pulled back just enough to look into my eyes. “Show me that you’re mine.”

My thighs went weak, shaking as he continued to slam into me.

“James!”

“Ah,” he moaned, trailing a hand down to my upper legs and flexing his fingers. “There’s my girl. Give it up for me.”

My tone turned sharp and shrill, and it was as if my body were waiting for permission because the moment his other grip moved to my mouth to stifle my noises of pleasure, I came with a garbled scream.

James watched me, drinking me in as I writhed beneath him, and his thrusts turned erratic—wild. My aftershocks repetitively continued, dragging on for long enough that I was nearly faint, and the bedframe rattled as he groaned:

“Fuck…fuck…oh, fuck!”

I felt the muscles clench in his back underneath my palms as he orgasmed, and his hand left my mouth only to be replaced with his lips. His kiss was tantric—tying me to him, body and soul—and we rolled to our sides once again, the gusts of air between us hot as our hearts hammered as one.

He held me and I him, stroking each other’s hair, nuzzling noses, and humming contentedly until his breathing seemed to slow. I leaned back to look at him, knowing that I would find him fast asleep. Seeing him with his eyes closed and lips parted made my chest warm, and when I moved to kiss his forehead gently, he let out a drowsy grunt.

In a final attempt to evade my own rest, I slipped from his arms and wandered to the bathroom. I washed my face…debated taking a shower…legitimately considered making a pot of coffee. But I did none of those things.

I returned to bed, instead—climbing in beside him, allowing his arms to find me and pull me close, and I couldn’t so much as blink before sleep took me.

James

This was the first morning that I had noticed how the window in my bedroom shined a perfect golden cast along my bedframe. Cassie lay facing away from me, the blankets bunched at her waist, and the ethereal glow lit her bare, tanned back in slits that ran through the blinds. My palms itched to touch her—to feel where the light had warmed her skin, tangle my fingers in her tresses, kiss the soft spot on her neck behind her ear, and wake her in the way that only a lover could.
