I rescued my pillow before gliding to the center of the room and taking a seat. My magic curled at my fingertips. Centering myself, I looked at the five mages surrounding me—my guys who wanted to be here.
My heart fluttered.
A warm moist tongue slurped up the back of my arm, and the fluttering stopped. I wrinkled my nose, desperate not to imagine Vac slobber.
“Get over here,” Tanwyn called. The massive bear-dog padded to the summoner before backing part of his butt onto Tanwyn’s lap. “She’s trying to have a moment,” Tanwyn whispered. “Stop ruining it.”
I shook my head, but a smile pulled at my lips.
Chapter 19
The runes of the Sphérique blurred as I spun in Metaphysics. I released my Bead of Will with an excited laugh, and it soared through the air. Only to completely miss Ashe and hit the ground next to him, splintering into tiny bits of light before disappearing.
“Maybe stick with throwing normally,” Officer Keres offered unhelpfully.
Professor Garnet snorted, his red rims twinkling. I flushed, but even my embarrassing miss couldn’t cut through my good mood.
“It’s refreshing to see you smiling,” Officer Keres added, more relaxed than I’d ever seen him. He addressed all of us. “Well done, class dismissed. Keith and Marcus, a word, please.”
Tanwyn, Saffron, and Beryl all popped up from their spots. Beryl fist-bumped me, followed by a high five from Saffron—that I somehow almost missed.
Tanwyn pulled me to his side and kissed my cheek. “I’ve never seen you so happy before.”
I wiggled my hips. “I’ve never gotten to practice my magic on the willing, guilt-free before.”
I squeezed my thighs together, my core as bright as my mood. I considered openly transferring into the mages in front of me, but Ashe and Officer Keres’ whispering held me back. I let out a frustrated breath. My magic was still illegal. Even if it wasn’t, this might not be the right time or place for an orgy. My pussy pouted, and I reminded it that life is complicated.
“I love using magic.” I bounced on my feet. “Damon never used it. Everything was mundane unless we made it to sell. Every once in a while, we plugged things into my socket—but that’s it. I don’t understand why we lived the way we did, but I never want to live that way again.” I squeaked. “I love using magic.”
Tanwyn squeezed me to him. “Here, here!”
The tritone ending class drifted through the shut door. Beryl’s guards stood to escort him out. The big mage and Saffron gave me a quick hug before heading to GS. Although I knew they stuck together to keep Saffron safe, I liked to believe the forced interactions might lead to a real friendship.
“What is wrong with you?” Saffron’s yell came through the door just before it shut.
Right, friends. I rubbed my neck.
Tanwyn whistled, and Vac padded over from his spot. “I’m cutting GS today.”
I nodded, expecting him to say that. “Do you need references? Should we do this in the library?” I motioned to my socket.
Tanwyn twirled his phone between his fingers. “Library would be best.”
I pinched myself, trying to distract my worked-up body. I needed to focus.
With Ashe, Officer Keres, and the professor all deep in their quiet conversation, Tanwyn and I slipped out the door. Vac on our heels. I hurried us to the library, every step I took only adding to the fire between my legs.
I settled into my old faded blue love seat and rubbed my thighs together. “Stupid magic.”
Tanwyn smirked and looked up from his phone.
“Professor Garnet can get you into the restricted section, but not for another hour.” Tanwyn reached for my bookbag. “You’ve got reading for Moral Philosophy, right?”
I rolled my eyes. “I have reading for everyone. Not that I can focus on any of it right now.”
Tanwyn’s gaze heated. “I’ve taken Moral Philosophy twice.” He pulled out a random book. “We can read together while we wait.”
I scooted over, and Tanywn slid into the spot next to me on the small couch, our hips smooshed together. He was the only one of my guys thin enough to do this with, and I loved it. Though, the professor wasn’t super wide, just tall and defined. Maybe we could fit.
