“They share her?” the fiancée hissed, her voice slightly trembling with excitement over the juicy little “secret” I’d just dropped for her.

I blinked at her, not answering verbally, but giving them a careless shrug. “I don’t judge others for their kinks. Sharing is fun—with the right person.”

Both wives huffed, but there was a sparkle in the fiancée’s eyes that suggested she was well aware of how fun it could be.

“Oh my,” the second wife murmured, her eyes back on Nicole’s group. “Maybe she’s right. There’s Phoenix now, and his eyes are all glittery.”

“Is he angry or in love, though?” Wife One mused. “That looks more like hate than lust.”

Sneaking another glance, I had to agree with the other woman. He looked livid as he stopped beside the group and said something that had the other men scattering, while Nicole and Joseph both tensed.

My eyes ate up the sight of him in his all-black tux, how his hair was slightly unkempt. I loved running my fingers through those curls when his head was between my legs. Even from across the room, I could see the starburst of brown take up the majority of his irises with his ire.

Bad pregnancy hormones! Stop that. We hate this man now. Capital H-A-T-E.

Clenching my legs together, and completely ignoring the angel on my shoulder trying to call me a liar, I turned to Sam. He dropped his hand from my back to my hip. “You okay?” he murmured against my ear.

“Want to have some fun?” I asked, the devil on my shoulder jumping up and down in excitement.

“I am always up for a good time with you, love.” He touched his lips to my cheek, and I felt a prickle of goose bumps lift along my spine. I didn’t need to glance over at the other group to know Nash was looking at me.

Sam nuzzled my ear with his nose, and I bit my lip. “Will Stef be upset with us?”

He snorted. “The only thing he will be pissed about is that he missed the show.”

Smiling at the affection in his voice, I kissed the corner of his mouth. Sam and Stef were very good-looking men. Things might have been simpler if I’d felt the least bit of attraction to either of them—and if they were into women. But they weren’t, and I didn’t feel anything but amusement when my best friend skimmed his tongue over my bottom lip in front of everyone.

Our group quieted, openly watching us as we kissed. Sam’s hand left my waist to rub over my hip, squeezing my ass hard enough to leave a bruise, causing me to have to fight a giggle.

When he lifted his head, I licked my lips and hummed loudly, overemphasizing the noise I made when Nash kissed me, in hopes he heard. Sam’s eyes flickered over my shoulder before he tucked my hair back behind my ear. Leaning down, he whispered, “He is livid.”

A thrill went down my spine at Nash being jealous before I shook the thought away. Whether he was or not no longer mattered.

For the next hour, Sam talked shop with the men in our group, randomly dropping a kiss on my lips or whispering something in my ear. It was meant to appear intimate, but he only whispered how pissed Nash looked since I refused to even glance his way.

Each time, I had to fight back a laugh. Sam was pushing Nash’s buttons, knowing he wouldn’t do a damn thing about it in public. I played into every flirty touch, each brush of his mouth on my skin. To any outsider, it looked like Sam and I were madly in love. As much as it amused me, I felt a pang of longing.

If Nash loved me, even a little bit, maybe we could have been like this in public. The kisses, the sweet touches, all of it could have been real. I would have been happy with the tiniest show of affection.

Hardening my heart to the what-ifs, I pushed my still-full glass into Sam’s hand. “Be right back.”

He dropped another kiss on my lips, lightly slapping my ass. “Want me to come?”

With a smile, I shook my head. “I need a girl moment. Unless you want to watch me pee? It’s not my thing, but if it’s your new kink, I’ll try to get on board with it for my favorite guy.”

He slapped my ass a little firmer, his deep laughter drawing the appreciative gazes of other women and several men. “Come back to me soon. I already miss you.”

As I walked away, I heard one of the men speaking to him. “Your father is no doubt pleased with your relationship with Delilah Royal. When are you going to give the girl a ring?”

I didn’t hear his reply as I slipped past other people to the exit. Finding the bathroom, I noticed several other women standing at the mirror, touching up their makeup while chatting. They were so into their conversation they didn’t even glance my way as I chose a stall.

“I heard Royal is sharing Nicole with Phoenix.”

I smirked to myself as I reached for the tissue. The two wives and the fiancée from earlier had moved on to other groups. It was nice to know they had been spreading that little nugget of gossip I’d supplied to them.
