“Callan has confirmed it is the BioZen cage he was kept in, but...and please don’t freak out, as it’s just an idea. But being human, Brooklyn, you could move in and out during daylight. We wondered if we could discuss it with you.”

The circuits in his brain misfired.

Nothing made sense.

But he wasn’t letting her do that. Why the hell would they ask her? They had other humans who were more skilled.

“Way too dangerous,” Logan said. “Ask some of our human contacts located in the main cities.”

“Yes, but Brooklyn knows the layout of the Seattle office.”

Logan's blood began to chill as he stared at Sage and the dots started to connect.

“What?” he asked, anyway.

“Yes, but Brooklyn used to work at BioZen. She knows...”

His vision turned red, his hearing blurred, and time slowed. Brooklyn touched his arm and followed Sage while he stood there in shock.

BioZen.

She was one of them.

The humans he despised the most.

And he’d fucked her.

Worse, he liked her.

Actually, it was far worse than that, but Logan refused to let his brain—and heart—go there.

Certainly not for a fucking BioZen scientist.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

“We’re on our way to Seattle now.” Brayden told Vincent as they boarded the private jet he’d just chartered.

AKA compelled the pilot, crew and the billionaires who suddenly were excited to be heading to the West Coast instead of the Caribbean.

They’d get over it.

“Keep them under,” he said to Craig, who shuffled the five designer-clad twenty-something’s farther into the plane.

“Who’s keen on some shots?” Craig asked, nudging Elizabeth into one of the seats. “Sit.”

“Asshole,” she muttered.

“Hell yes. Seattle here we come!” The blonde with the enormous diamond on her ring finger declared.

Brayden almost laughed.

Their tropical wear would not come in handy in Seattle, but he’d make sure the young group got to the Caribbean the next day.

“Who the hell is having shots?” Ari confusedly asked through the line.

“I’ll explain later.” Brayden dropped down into the dark gray leather seat and lifted his face to speak to the flight attendant. “Excuse me, we need to get in the air immediately.”

“Sir, we are doing the best we can,” she replied. “Would you like the same tequila refreshments as your friends?”
