Jesus.

Ari cleared his throat and with one look at the warrior and king, whose brow was lifted, Logan abruptly dropped his hand.

What the hell is wrong with me?

Brooklyn’s bright shiny eyes smiled up at the hybrid and Logan grit his teeth. As they walked out, he followed, nodding at Vincent respectfully.

“I’ve finished for the day, but this shouldn’t take long,” Brooklyn said cheerfully.

“So, what do you do on your days off?” Mack asked, snaking his arm around her as a couple of warriors barreled through the corridor.

That was his job.

Get your fucking hands off her.

“Oi! Slow down.” Logan grunted at the males and then sneered at the hybrid’s hand.

Which was on her lower back.

No. Just fucking no.

Mack and Brooklyn turned, surprised to see him.

“Don’t you need to get the team sorted?” Mack asked.

“No. Sage said this won’t take long, then you can come with me,” Logan snapped as Brooklyn stared at him with her lips parted.

Then swallowed.

And his mind immediately went to naughty places. Very naughty. Ones he was fighting to not act out.

Mack frowned as his phone rang. He lifted it to his ear, slowing his pace so Logan stepped into his place.

“Noah, what’s up?” Mack greeted his caller, his voice blurring into the background.

“Hello,” Logan purred down at his little mouse.

Jesus.

“Hello.” Brooklyn shot him a confused look. “Everything okay?”

He nodded, unable to think of anything else to say.

Apart from, hey I’ve been rethinking my position and I think I might want to fuck you. Imagining the taste of your pussy is driving me insane.

So what do you think?

But that wasn’t hallway conversation.

“Thanks for last night.” She shoved her hands into her pockets.

“Did you say something to Sage?” Logan asked, wondering what Ari’s mate knew.

“No, why?”

“She didn’t want you near me.” Logan shrugged.

“Well, you do keep threatening to kill me. Or eat me. Whatever. I am losing track.” Brooklyn shook her head.
