“Well, tell me about this Addison woman.”

“She’s gone, thank God, but I’m thankful for Aydin and his team.”

“She took you from your apartment and tried to have you killed.” Dani shook her head in despair.

“Stop… I don’t want you to go down that rabbit hole I was on.”

“It’s hard.”

She wiped her tears.

“I underestimated her; she was tougher than I thought.”

“That bitch, if she were alive, I’d kick her ass.”

I chortled at her response.

“How about we leave her in the past, and you come check out my building I found.”

Dani agreed, and we continued to talk and catch up as the food was brought out to the table. Two hours later, we pulled up to the office I’d planned to open in a few months. The building was in a quiet business district, a few blocks from Aydin, so we’d be able to have lunch whenever we wanted.

“It’s cute.” Dani met me at the entrance, and I unlocked the door. The building was a standalone two-story office building with three offices and two bathrooms. There was a small parking lot on the corner of the building.

“I can’t wait to decorate.”

Dani scanned the office door in the corner.

“That’ll be my office, and I’ll hire an assistant and two employees.”

“I think maybe a light gray and cream color scheme would work. Open space.” Dani opened the blinds in the front of the entrance.

“All planned out.”

“Proud of you, my friend.”

“Thank you. I’ve come a long way.”

“Soon, your name will be in lights.” Dani twirled in a circle.

I cackled and clapped my hands.

“Just think, we could have lost you.”

She sadly turned to me.

“You’ll never have to worry about that again.”

We hugged and wiped our tears away and headed out of the office. Locking up, I walked to my car and decided to hang with my parents for a few hours before I head home. My new normal included a man who treated me like I was gold and wanted the best for me without anything in return. I reversed out of the parking lot, honked at Dani, and drove down the street, turning on the old-school classic rock music with thoughts of my business venture.

AYDIN

A month later.

Many women would say I’d been closed off and avoided a relationship altogether, but Amelia opened me up to the idea of what my parents had. After Addison and Tristan were killed, I let my grip ease up, and we decided to go on a little retreat. Nasir was in charge of the office while we were away, and I reveled in what I was to do with the full curves that stood in front of me.

“What are you doing?” She glanced up while I untied her robe. The beach cabin I brought us to was secluded, and I could have her any way I wanted without interruptions. Her heavy breasts, in the thin corset, called for me to squeeze. Her legs looked longer in the high heels, and the white color against her skin spurred me on to kiss her on the lips gently.

“Taking in this moment.” Amelia stood on her toes and grasped my chin, plunging her tongue in my mouth. I grabbed her around the waist and walked her backwards against the wall.
