“We have to go on foot from here,” I replied, unlocked the van, and grabbed the bags of explosives.
“If we’re going in, make sure we stay in contact with each other.”
“Nicco, you take the explosives and start some fireworks. When they come out, we shoot anyone who’s not Amelia,” I commanded.
“Got it, boss.”
“He’s back.”
“He never left.”
I grabbed the shotgun and cocked it back with the scope attached.
“You have three minutes,” Nicco informed us, and we took off to run through the grass and behind the sign. I jogged, looked at my watch, and counted down to the three-minute mark.
Boom!
“Go!” I shouted and ran toward the cabin with my gun ready when men came outside yelling and ran toward the fire.
Bang! Bang!
I shot two men, and Nasir sliced another with his knife. Another guy sent a shot our way, and I dropped to the ground.
Pop! Popppp!
“Stay down!” I yelled. Nasir pulled his gun out and sent shots back toward them.
“Take the left side!” He scrambled and jumped up, and I followed to watch his back.
Boom!
Another explosive went off, and I knew Nicco was on his way to back us up. I ran up the stairs and kicked the door inside, and a man tried to jump up with his gun.
“If you want to live, I would put that gun down.”
His eyes glanced to the right, and I followed when he tried to shoot, but my gun went off first.
“Arggh!” he screamed.
“Told you not to try me.” I looked from my right to left, Nasir was behind me, and I checked the side door, but no one was inside.
“Help! Help!”
I heard screams.
“She’s here.” I took off running.
AMELIA
Carlos was in the front, talking to someone on the phone, and Addison was with Tristan somewhere around here, discussing about moving me to somewhere else. I didn’t know what spooked them but me not being locked up here became a problem. I’d already eaten before Addison came, and Carlos let me use the restroom to wash up and brush my teeth. I thanked him for that gesture, but he was still just as guilty as her for keeping me here.
Click!
The door opened, and Carlos stood behind Addison.
“What’s going on?”
“We’re leaving,” Addison spoke.
