“Thanks, Molly.”

“You’re welcome. Here’s the information on TN Security. Study what you can, but the meeting starts in thirty minutes.”

“I’ll do that now.”

“Great, see you when I get back.”

“Have a great lunch.”

Molly bowed like I was a king on a throne, walked out of the office, and left me to get familiar with the day-to-day business.

AYDIN

Out of all the places for me to run into the woman I couldn’t keep my mind off all last night in my dreams, she walked right through my door. Something told me it would be a problem, and I needed to fire her immediately before I crossed that line. Already I wanted to protect her from anything or anyone who tried to cause her any pain. The way her round, doe eyes looked back at me caused my dick to jump in my pants. I tried to control my attitude, but it was hard as Molly was talking about her being the Operations manager and my assistant. It probably looked bad that I gritted my teeth and almost squeezed the life out of my stress ball. Before Amelia stepped into my office, another crisis had come up with one of my clients, and they needed to hire my team to handle security for an overseas trip. We’d been booked up for the past few months. I opened TN Security a few years back after I left the navy and brought along the people who worked with me every day. Nasir and Rocco were just a few of my guys. When I decided to start this business, I needed loyal people around me who would carry on my values even if I wasn’t there.

Knock! Knock!

The door opened, and Nasir stepped inside with an annoyed expression on his face. I had an idea of what he was about to talk about, and I felt the same way.

“I read over the email and was already stretched thin,” Nasir stated, as he sat in the chair and ran a hand down his face.

“Clarence just called to see if I changed my mind.”

“He knows how to annoy me, because he texted me yesterday,” Nasir informed me. Clarence, our longtime client, expected us to drop everything to accommodate his family.

“We’re booked up, and I told him that already.”

“Are you ready for the meeting?”

“Yeah.”

“What’s wrong with you?”

“Molly hired a new Operations manager.”

“So?”

“It’s the woman from last night.”

“What!”

I nodded and stood out of my seat.

“Just as surprised as you when she stepped in my office.”

“Is she qualified? What’s her name?”

“Amelia.”

“Amelia,” he repeated. My stomach tightened at his mention of her name. I had no claim on her, but to hear another guy call her name did something to me.

“Why are you looking like that?”

“Like what?” I replied.

“Like you’re ready to kick my ass for saying her name.” Nasir chuckled, and I flipped him off and followed him out of the office.

“Time for the meeting.”
