“Tell Aydin.”

“You’re right.”

“Anything else?” Molly stood behind the chair.

“No, for right now, just this issue with the senator.”

“The event is this weekend; usually I go. You should attend.”

“I don’t think I should.”

“Why not? Aydin and the guys will be there, and it brings in business.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“Stop stressing. You’ve done a great job so far. Glad you came aboard.”

“Thanks, Molly.”

Molly waved me off and left my office. I continued reading all the emails and replying to new clients that wanted to hire the company. When I scanned the time, I saw it was going on eleven and decided to check in with Aydin. I printed out the information on Addison’s event and strolled down to his door and knocked.

“It’s open.”

I pushed the door open and smiled at him, but his face held no emotion.

“Morning.”

“Morning.”

“Is this a bad time?”

“No, what do you need?”

“I can come back.”

“Obviously something is bothering you.” He sat back in his chair.

“I received an email from Senator Edgar about the upcoming event with his daughter, and the numbers were off.”

“By how much?” He leaned forward in his chair.

“My estimate is around five thousand.”

“Send me the numbers.” He looked up at me.

“Okay.”

“Anything else?” He motioned his hand to continue.

I started to say something else but turned to leave, then froze and released a breath.

“Did I do something wrong?”

“Excuse me?”

“You seem frustrated with me, and I don’t know why.”

“I think you’re overthinking.”
