“I talked to the police. His brother is on the force.” I pointed at Wesley in the corner, next to Aydin.

“I still can’t believe Addison kidnapped you,” Molly expressed, and everyone muttered in agreement.

“Addison and Tristan.”

“Let’s move on. This will only take you to a dark place,” Dani said.

“Yes, when are you coming back to the office?” Molly asked.

“I’m not.”

“That means I’ll be alone again.”

I giggled at the sorrowful expression on her face.

“I’ll stop in from time to time, but I have a new thing I want to pursue.”

“Please spill.” Dani poured herself more wine.

“I’m starting my own business that handles operations management positions for different companies.”

“That sounds interesting,” Molly said.

“I know, and it’s because of you and your encouragement. The work of an office manager to a higher scale.”

“Let me know if you need any help.”

“I promise to keep you updated.”

We laughed and talked all day until everyone left. Aydin helped me shower and get into bed, and we cuddled up together. We hadn’t slept together or even thought of doing anything sexual since I’d been back, and I appreciated him for his care and kindness with not only my mind, but body.

“What do you have to do tomorrow?” I rubbed a hand up and down his chest.

“A few meetings, but nothing that will take the whole day.”

“I’m going to check out a few buildings with Dani.”

“You’re serious about the business idea.”

“Yes. How do you feel about me no longer being at the security firm?”

He sighed and moved his left hand behind his head.

“Not happy, but I understand why you need your space.”

“Not from you. It’s just a way to gain my independence.”

“I get it, MeMe.”

“You and this nickname.” I laughed.

“You don’t like it?” Aydin pulled his arm down and lifted my chin to peck my lips.

“I like anything you call me.”

“I suggest you get some sleep before I have you entangled in my bed and screaming my name.”

“Only if it’s for pleasure.”
