“What?”
“Stop flirting with that man unless you're ready to take it there,” I responded.
“What makes you think we haven’t already?”
“Ohhh, Novah, tell me everything that happened,” I whispered slowly.
“I’m not answering those questions,” Novah replied.
“I told you about me and Dominic.”
“Yeah and I still have nightmares about it,” she joked, and I flipped her off.
Emmanuel opened the front entrance for us, and we walked inside. To my surprise, I saw Danielle sitting with Dominic’s family.
“Hey, I didn’t know you were going to be here,” I said, sitting down next to her.
“It was last minute, and I decided to leave work early to hang with my husband once he gets off,” Danielle replied.
“That’s great, you should take more time out for yourself.”
Dominic came around from the head of the table and kissed me on the lips.
“Hey,” I said.
“You wore my favorite dress,” he replied, running his hand down my arm.
“Behave.”
“I can’t promise, princess. You look beautiful though.”
“Thank you. How was work?”
“Good, we wrapped up everything at Raven’s finally, and everything was shipped off without a hitch. Proud of you, and this lunch is to celebrate your accomplishments.”
“Thank you, baby,” I pulled him in close by his jacket and whispered.
“Lauren, I ordered the makeup and already love it, you have to do some type of review with your line and I want to be in on it,” Devan stated.
“We could do a sleepover with all the girls and test everything out.”
“That would be fun,” Devan said.
“I just got you back, I’m not going to share you with Devan,” Dominic told me.
“Stop being so grumpy. You can be away for one night,” Devan insisted.
“Nope, I’ll be there in the bedroom, while you have your sleepover and she’s sleeping next to me,” Dominic responded.
“Then, it’s not a sleepover if she has to leave,” Devan pouted, poking out her tongue and rolling her eyes.
“You two stop! Lauren, you’ve gained a little weight since I’ve seen you last time,” Sonya said.
“All that food your son has been cooking,” I responded, changing the subject off of my appearance.
“Is that the only reason?” she questioned.
“What other reason could it be, Ma?” Dominic said.
