“Shut up, Dominic. This the most important thing you’ve ever done for me,” she joked, and Dominic jerked back in surprise. She tried to reach over and hug him and he pushed her away. I chuckled, hugging him and kissing his lips to make him feel better.
“I’m the most important thing you’ve ever given her,” I whispered against his lips.
“Don’t mind Devan, she can be a little shallow.”
“I recall you saying the same thing about me, Mr. Combs,” I teased.
“You still are, but I like that shit.”
We both laughed at his statement. A man that I assumed was his brother walked over with another gentleman.
“Hey, Lauren, you have to forgive our sister. She was dropped on her head when she was young. Desmond, the older brother.”
“Nice to meet you, Desmond,” I replied.
“Lauren Armstrong, baby, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Elias, the cousin and best friend. Do you have any sisters, cousins, or aunties?” Elias asked and Dominic removed my hand out of his cousin’s and pushed me behind him. I laughed so hard; Elias had no shame.
“Elias, stop making a fool of yourself. Let that girl come in here and relax for a change without you hounding her,” another woman’s voice stated.
“Baby, this is my mom and dad. Sonya and Drake Combs.” Dominic introduced us.
I shook their hands and she motioned for me to take a seat. Dominic held out my chair and I sat next to him with his brother and cousin on the opposite side with the kids next to them.
“Lauren, my son tells me you’re a model?” Sonya questioned, passing the salad dressing around the table.
“I'm a social media model and influencer. I recently became an ambassador to a makeup company and have the chance to create my own line. Actually, I’d love for your entire family to come to the launch party,” I replied.
“Devan, let’s get something straight in front of everyone. Lauren is my girlfriend. She’s not here to play dress up with you. Find your little friends and leave my girl alone,” Dominic fussed.
I slapped him on the shoulder for being rude.
“I can hang with your sister. She’s not doing anything wrong. Be nice.”
“Thanks, Lauren. He’s always trying to stop my shine,” Devan told me.
I nodded. “No worries, we have to stick together. I have a younger brother so I understand how annoying they can be.”
Dominic leaned over and whispered in my ear, “Don’t get your ass on punishment.” Then he kissed the side of my face.
“I like her Dominic; she doesn’t take shit from you. How old are you, young lady?” Sonya asked.
“Twenty-five, Ma’am.”
“That’s young, are you ready for a relationship with the type of man Dominic is and the lifestyle he leads?” his mother questioned.
“We already covered that, Mom. She was the one that pursued me,” Dominic said, taking a bite of his salad while I pinched his leg underneath the table.
“Ouch!” he shouted. Everyone looked over at him and I pretended to innocently drink my water.
“How was the walk through of the hotel?” I asked him.
“It was good. The ballroom of the Ocean View Hotel is letting us have a couple of suites on top of the party room. So, you can get changed and dolled up. Zoe has the red carpet confirmed and Emmanuel will be there for that while I take care of the inside,” Dominic explained.
“You're not going to walk with me?” I asked, poking my lip out in a pout. He leaned over and kissed my lips and everyone whistled and hollered in joy.
“Sorry, baby, not this time. I need to make sure you're safe on all sides.”
As the night went on, we laughed, talked, and drank until it was time for us to leave. An hour later, Dominic had me bent over in the shower fucking me senseless as the water dripped down our bodies.
