“In a minute,” Kash said.

“I cooked breakfast if you’re hungry, but we talk first.”

“Ari, I want this,” he said, pulling me into his chest.

“Me too.”

“So, how do we move forward?” Kash asked.

“We need to be honest with each other and no more Vegas unless I’m with you,” I muttered as I ran a hand up his chest.

He chuckled and brushed his lips across mine.

“No problem,” Kash said.

“Communication and trust is what I ask of you moving forward. Can you handle that?” I asked.

“Of course, Ari,” Kash replied.

“What do you want from me?” I asked.

“I need you to stop running away when something gets hard between us. We can only be one if we stand together,” Kash explained.

I stuck my hand out for him to shake, and he shook his head, laughing while I giggled, watching the bright smile cross his face.

“I love you, Kash,” I said.

“I love you too. But never doubt my feelings about you. You’re woman enough for me. Josie wasn’t my girlfriend. You’re my girlfriend and future wife one day.”

“What about me driving?” I questioned.

“I’ll always be afraid if you get hurt, but I won’t stop you from your dreams,” Kash insisted.

“Good, because I planned on training until I couldn’t drive anymore.”

“I figured,” Kash said.

“You get my text about the doctor’s appointment next week?” I questioned.

He followed me into the kitchen, and I grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge, removed the top, and took a sip.

“I did. Is everything okay with you?” Kash asked.

“It’s a routine checkup. Nothing serious.”

“How does your family feel about the baby?” Kash questioned.

“They were happy. At first, it was shocking, and I thought they’d want to kill you. But my mom talked all the men down in our family, and they’re okay with me being pregnant.”

“You’re really having my baby,” Kash whispered, burying his face between my neck and shoulder. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and we stood like that for five minutes before his phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket, looked at the unknown number, and declined the call.

“That could have been important,” I said.

“Everything that’s important is right here in front of me,” Kash said. I grinned and stood on my tippy toes to kiss his lips.

“I’m headed to the track. You want to go with me?” he asked.

“I can go for a little bit, but I need to talk with Malik about something,” I said.
