Rachel pushed Juliet against the back of her couch, dropped to her knees, and sucked her clit into her mouth.

“Fuck.” Juliet’s eyes slammed shut, her head thrown back, so overcome with arousal that she couldn’t stop Rachel. She needed relief, and she needed it now. “Y-yes. Harder.”

“Mm. I knew you wanted me.” Rachel sucked harder, sinking two fingers inside Juliet as she hummed against her clit. “I’ve missed you.”

Juliet fell apart, releasing around Rachel’s fingers. But Rachel didn’t stop, didn’t slow. Instead, she kept fucking Juliet, knowing she was about to peak again. Only this time, Paige flashed through her mind, her lips sucking Juliet into her mouth. Rachel didn’t exist, their arrangement was gone, and all Juliet felt was Paige all over her. Inside her. Shit, she was going to come like she’d never come before.

“Fuck, yes. Give it to me. Come for me again, baby.”

Juliet gripped the back of Rachel’s head, forcing her mouth against her. She rode hard and fast, and then she roared out as she came for a second time. “Oh, Paige. Y-yes. Take me. D-don’t stop.”

Rachel slowed, and then she eased out of Juliet, staring up at her where she sat back on her knees at Juliet’s feet. “Did you just…”

Juliet exhaled a shaky breath, her chest heaving as she slumped back against the couch. Her hands tightened around the cushions, her knees trembling. “God, I wasn’t expecting that.”

“No,” Rachel said as she scoffed and got to her feet. “Neither was I!”

Juliet watched with confusion as Rachel turned away, sniffling again. “Rachel, what’s wrong?” She grabbed her towel from the floor and covered herself, placing a hand on Rachel’s shoulder. “Hey…”

“Don’t.” Rachel shrugged Juliet’s touch away. “Just don’t.”

“What’s—”

“I came over because I tried calling last night and got your voicemail. I’ve been calling you this morning, and it just rang out. I miss you, Juliet. I came over because I wanted to see you, to be with you, but you…” Rachel pinched the bridge of her nose. “You’re sleeping with her, aren’t you?”

“Who? I’m not sleeping with anybody!”

“Paige.” Rachel had a look in her eyes that Juliet had never seen before. Cold, hurt…insulted. “It makes sense now. You haven’t wanted me since she turned up at the bar.”

“I’m…not doing anything with Paige.” Juliet wished she was after that kiss, but the hard truth was that she would never share anything more with Paige. “Why the hell would you think that?”

“Because while I had my fingers inside you, you called out her name!”

Juliet hadn’t. She couldn’t. Had she? Oh, God!

“Rachel, I’m sorry.” Juliet felt dreadful. As she cast her mind back, she knew she had called out Paige’s name.

But Rachel’s body language suddenly changed. She pulled her shoulders back, fixed her jacket, and turned towards the door. “Please, don’t apologise. You pay me to fuck you, Juliet. It’s my own fault for forgetting that…even if only briefly.”

“You got me at a bad time, that’s all.” Juliet took a step towards Rachel, reaching out a hand.

Rachel took a step back, followed by another. Juliet immediately noted how her shoulders lowered, making Rachel appear smaller. This…wasn’t the woman Juliet knew. God, she’d fucked it all up.

Rachel cleared her throat. “You employ me. You call when you need me. You really don’t need to explain yourself. More fool me for showing up.”

“Why did you show up?”

“Maybe I just thought I could give it one last shot. To apologise and see if you had changed your mind.” Rachel lifted a shoulder, taking hold of the door handle.

No, no, no. Juliet clenched the hand at her side into a fist, her chest tight. She desperately wanted to get through to Rachel, but she didn’t want this to end the way it seemed to be ending. Juliet wanted it to be amicable. The least she could do here, and right now, was afford Rachel time to discuss this properly. “But…I told you we were done.”

“Yet I’ve just been on my knees, fucking you. So, tell me, Juliet. What the hell is it that you want?”

Juliet wouldn’t be spoken to like that. “Like I said, you caught me at a bad time.”

“Yeah, it looked terrible. A really bad time.”

Juliet sighed, motioning towards the couch. She needed to sit down, and she suspected Rachel did too. Juliet lowered herself, dragging a hand through her hair. “I…kissed her. Last night. And since then, I just feel out of sorts. On edge. I have been all night. You turned up, and I should have said no.” Juliet wasn’t sure she was even making any sense now. “I used you, and for that, I can never apologise enough.”
