I sniffed but it was useless. I was full on ugly crying. I could feel snot snaking out of my nose and before I could wipe it, Nash did it for me. I just cried even harder. “I’m gross!”
Tate leaned over the back of the couch and wiped my cheeks. “You’re not gross. You do have to talk to us, though. We’re new to this relationship thing, but even I don’t think it’s normal for you to be sobbing after taking us back.”
That time I did laugh. I was still crying and the mix wasn’t great, but if they thought they wanted me forever, they had to see even the worst parts of me. “I’m sorry. I’m just…”
“Scared?” Aiden sat down next to us and pressed a kiss to my shoulder when I nodded. “We didn’t give you any reason to trust that we’d stay for you, Eve. That’s something we’re going to fix. We’ll prove to you we’re not going anywhere. You don’t have to be scared. We’re yours, Evie.”
Nash used the bottom of my sheriff shirt and wiped my face before holding it to my nose for me to blow into. When he saw my incredulous face, he raised his eyebrows. “This shirt is going far, far away from you. Blow your nose and then we’ll toss it in the trash.”
I did as he said and blushed a deep red when he told me I was a good girl and then pulled the shirt over my head. Sitting in just my bra, my tears began to fade and looked around at them. “What if I’m not enough? What if you give up the career you knew to stay here and you’re miserable?”
“You’re more than enough for us, Evie. You just willingly walked into a Deputy job today. You’re going to keep us on our toes. And if things get rough and it turns out we do need to travel to keep our heads on right? You’ll come with us. We’ll try out short jobs or something. No matter what, we’re not leaving you.” Tate smiled. “If we do have to travel, we’ll get a big RV, or something. Whatever will fit all the kids we’re going to have.”
“We could park it at the RV park and put out our picket fence wherever we are. If we have to travel.” Aiden shrugged. “I think you’re enough of an adrenaline boost that Harmony Valley will work out for us just fine.”
With my emotions so close to the surface, I could feel words slipping to the surface that I wasn’t sure I was ready to say. With them promising a traveling picket fence, though, I was helpless to my feelings. “I love you guys. I know I shouldn’t say it so early and it’ll probably freak you out, but I do. If you’re staying for me, you have to know that. I love you guys. I don’t know how to turn that feeling down if it’s too much. I don’t know how to do any of this with three men. I don’t want to scare you—”
Nash pressed his finger over my lips. “Don’t turn that feeling down. Not now. Not ever. I love you, too, Eve. I have since I unglued your vagina.”
I groaned. “Don’t ruin it.”
“I love you, Evie.” Aiden cupped my face in his hand and smiled. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life saying that to you.”
Tate pulled me to my feet, much to Nash’s disgust, and held me against his chest. “I fucking love you with everything I am, Eve. I’ve never felt this way about anyone else but I know it’s a forever thing. It just gets stronger every day. That alone should’ve told me we could never leave you. Day after day, I just want more.”
I was tearing up again but I let out a laugh before gently slapping his arm. “None of you could’ve realized this before now?”
Nash sighed. “We’re dumb.”
“Complete idiots.”
Tate nodded. “Absolute imbeciles.”
I laughed and tipped my head back to stare at the ceiling. There were no water stains on their ceiling, either. “It’s going to take a while to get used to the idea of you guys without the fear of you leaving hanging over me.”
“You have all the time in the world.” Nash stood behind me and trailed kisses down my spine. “We can keep you busy in the meantime, if you’d like.”
I felt him unhook my bra and moaned. “I thought we could just sit and talk for a while. About our feelings. Is that okay?”
Tate’s face pinched, even as he nodded. “Sure. We’ll just sit and talk.”
“Yep. That’s a good plan.” Nash hooked my bra back together and made a noise that was very close to a pained whimper.
“Suckers.” Aiden pulled me from between his best friends and picked me up by my ass. “She’s fucking with you. You’d better get to know her tells a little better or you’re going to suffer at the hands of our sweet Evie.”
I giggled, a feeling of utter bliss settling over me. “Yeah, I just wanted to see what you’d say.”
Tate growled against the back of my neck. “I see how it is. You think you’re funny.”
Aiden clicked his tongue. “That’s not a good girl. Maybe you need a reminder of who’s in charge.”
A shiver of excitement ran through me. “Show me.”
CHAPTER 44
Eve
“No more! No more, please. I can’t.” I writhed on Nash’s bed as Tate rolled his tongue over my clit. I’d lost count of how many times I’d orgasmed, but I felt like I’d die if I had one more.
