She moans, like she’s enjoying that, too.

“Give it to me, Coop. Give me your come,” she whispers, like she’s in a dream.

I don’t think I have much more to give, and I gently pull my thumb from her ass, then take the vibrator from her hand, switching it off before she collapses onto her front and I lie beside her.

She turns her head to me and I brush a few stray hairs aside so I can see her properly, smiling at the glazed expression in her eyes, and the lop-sided smile on her lips.

“I’m sorry,” I say, and her smile fades slightly.

“What for?”

How can she not know? For losing my mind… for breaking all the rules I lectured Brady about, even though I had no cause. He told me he wanted to be around when this day came, and I told him it would never happen. How wrong could I have been?

“I didn’t use a condom,” I say, and her smile returns.

“I know, but you didn’t come inside me.”

“Maybe not. But unless you’re on birth control, it was still a risky move.”

She leans up. “I’m not on birth control, and I don’t care. It was worth it.”

I bend my head and kiss her. “Yeah. It was.”

I never thought I’d say this, but it really was.

“I just have one question,” she says and I lean back slightly and nod my head, waiting. “Were you this absent minded with Meredith?”

“No. Never. I promise I was always really careful. Not just with Meredith, but with everyone before her, too.”

“Okay,” she says, like she’s happy with my answer, and although I wonder if I ought to give her more reassurance that this has been a first for me, it seems she doesn’t need it. She lets her head rest on her bent arms and sighs deeply.

“Can I get you anything?”

“A towel would be useful.”

I chuckle and clamber off of the bed, going to the bathroom for the second time tonight. Once I’ve washed up, I grab a spare towel from the closet and bring it back to Mallory, who’s lying exactly where I left her.

It doesn’t take long to clean her up, and once I have, she turns over, letting me pull her into my arms, both of us gazing at each other.

“Can you stay?” I ask, dreading that she’ll say she has to go, and I’ll have to beg her not to.

“Do you want me to?”

“Yes, I do.”

I’m surprised by the thought that pops into my head… the thought that I want her to stay here forever, but I leave that unsaid for now, and simply kiss her instead.

Chapter Seventeen

Mallory

We got up a while ago and fixed something to eat.

Neither of us was particularly hungry and, to be honest, I think we’d both have preferred to stay in bed, but it was getting late and we needed to eat, so Cooper made some scrambled eggs, I fixed some toast and between us we made coffee. Naturally, neither of us got dressed, and his kitchen isn’t the biggest space in the world, separated from the rest of his living room by a breakfast bar, so there was plenty of touching involved, which made up for no longer lying in his arms.

It would have been impossible not to touch, even if his kitchen had been enormous, because Cooper with no clothes on is just too tempting for words. Every part of him is perfectly formed, and that seems to bring out the wild side in me. At least it makes me wilder than I’ve ever imagined I could be.

And I like that.
