Compass nodded.

Yarder turned to Dice. “Get rid of the car. Make sure no one can trace it.”

Dice smiled wide, and Fallon slid the keys across the table toward him. “One burn job coming right up,” he chuckled.

“Don’t make it too fucking obvious,” Yarder advised. “We don’t need a burned car being traced back to us.”

“I know a few places no one else knows about. Don’t even worry about it,” Dice promised as he pocketed the keys and headed out the door.

“Aero and Smoke,” Yarder continued, “go through Fallon’s devices and get any information off them you can, then get rid of them also.”

Fallon looked up, her frustration evident. “Why are we getting rid of all my stuff? They can’t possibly trace me from my computer or tablet.”

“If they know your IP address, they can track you. If you ever connected to the Wi-Fi at the office, they know your IP address,” Aero pointed out.

Fallon sighed heavily. “I really hate technology sometimes.”

“I still say we just find Boone and Gibbs and blow them the fuck up.” Stretch rapped his knuckles on the table. “Make it look like a fucking accident and call it a day.”

Yarder shook his head. “We’ll put that on the back burner for right now.”

“So you’re not saying no,” Stretch chuckled.

The tone lightened in the room. We all knew we were dealing with a huge shitstorm, but if we worked together, we’d make it through. I just hoped like hell that Fallon was telling the truth, and we didn’t need to worry about her double-crossing us. That was the last thing we needed on top of everything else we were dealing with.

The guys dispersed. Compass took Fallon to her new room, Dice headed out to take care of her car, and Aero and Smoke got to work on her devices. I hung back with Yarder.

“You all good here?” I asked him.

Yarder nodded. “For the time being. If you’re headed to Adalee, keep your fucking eyes open. Part of me thinks we should move her and the guys here too, just so we don’t have you by yourself.”

That was something we could consider. “Well, just let me know what you want to do, but for tonight, I’ll just stay there.”

Yarder nodded. “Sounds good. Stay safe.”

I pulled my keys out of my pocket and headed to my bike. I didn’t think Adalee, Mark, and Garett were caught up in this, but I couldn’t be too safe.

Fallon was not the expected curve ball, but we would make it work.

We had to.

Chapter Fourteen

Adalee

I was startled awake by the sound of Garett’s voice. “He just pulled in, sweetheart.” He was putting on his coat while Mark rose from the couch, stretching his arms over his head.

“About damn time,” Mark grunted. “This couch is shit to lay on.”

I wiped the sleep from my eyes and glanced at the clock. “We only slept for like half an hour,” I laughed.

“That’s because you put on that boring movie. I was supposed to be your bodyguard, and instead, I knocked out.”

A knock sounded on the door, and Garett looked through the peephole. “What’s the password?” he called.

“Open the damn door,” Fade replied.

Garett shrugged and unlocked the door. “That will do.”
