My classes were longer than usual, but I managed to get out in time to hit up my favorite burger joint in town.
Nothing compares to this place. The burgers are huge and well worth the fifteen dollars and their milkshakes are to die for.
“Is there anything else you need Jay?” The waiter asks me.
“No sir, this is great! Thanks so much!” I say before sinking my teeth into my burger.
Moments after I take the last bite, the waiter comes back and asks me if I would like dessert, but I decline.
I might have a craving for something this restaurant can’t cure.
Gwen.
Pulling a twenty dollar bill from my wallet, I toss it under the receipt along with another twenty for the tip. I always leave a massive tip when I’m done here. The chefs in the kitchen always make sure it’s cooked the way I like it, and I appreciate it.
I head out to my car and take off back to the apartment. I’d be surprised if she’s actually home. She’s been spending a lot of time with Mila lately.
I’m not sure what happened between her and Jenn, but I’m sure she’ll fill me in when she’s ready.
Those two were always like two peas in a pod, so I don’t quite understand the distance between them currently.

Gwen
This no coffee situation is bullshit.
Being around me without coffee is like being directly in the eye of a hurricaine.
I head into the kitchen and grab the coffee filters, trying to think of a way I can somehow make coffee myself. Camping style.
Or whatever.
I grab a large mug and place the coffee filter just barely inside, filling it with a scoop of coffee before realizing I didn’t boil any water yet. Also, how the hell do I pour the water in and hold the filter at the same time?
Smart.
I don’t care what it takes—I’m not leaving here without a coffee. Even if it does taste horrible in the end.
Hearing the door squeak open, I brace myself mentally for the razzing Jay will give me when he sees what I’m attempting to do.
I’m just about to fill a pot with water to boil when I hear Jay chuckle arrogantly behind me.
“Really, Gwen? I have coffee for you,” he says.
I turn around almost instantly, my mouth already watering at just the thought of a fresh coffee.
“Oh.My.God. You’re the best!” I exclaim, nearly running to him and grabbing the coffee.
“Always so needy,” he laughs, tossing his keys onto the counter before putting his shoes away neatly.
“No, I just require a certain amount of caffeine in my system for the sake of others.” I chuckle, taking a large drink of the best coffee I’ve drank in a while.
“So—what was with that picture this morning?” He asks, grinning at me with his arms folded.
“Well, since you’re always teasing me, I figured I’d return the favor.”
