Then wait.

Gwen
The second Mila and I got to her flat, we dug out the cocktail glasses and the fruity alcohol, filling them to the rim before heading out to her gazebo out back.
“What should we do tonight?”
“Plan the best birthday ever for Jay, and of course drink until we can’t anymore!” I squeal, spilling half of my drink on the floor.
“We haven’t hung out in forever—I need details!” Mila smirks.
I know exactly what she’s thinking.
“You literally saw me a few days ago…and I don’t kiss and tell,” I laugh out loud.
“Wait—does Jay still think the party is off?” Mila asks as she sets her glass down on the coffee table.
I chuckle and nod my head.
“Holy shit, this is going to be amazing!”
We finish off our drinks and head down the hallway toward the spare room, where we hid everything from Jay. I’m not sure how we are supposed to pull this off, since the party is at Dwight’s, not here. We now have to load everything back up and get it there.
Mila’s phone goes off, and hear her chuckle behind me.
“What’s so funny?” I ask, grabbing one of the gift bags from the corner of the room.
“Jay just sent me a text. He said, and I quote; ‘Gwen’s phone must be dead. Let her know that I’m pretty sure I know what she’s up to, and it’s not a good idea,’ end quote.”
“Tell him I’m not scared of him and that I have no idea what he’s talking about.” I reply as I rip apart a layer of bright red gift wrapping tissue.
“You two are fucking adorable.” Mila laughs.
Hopefully the guys aren’t stupid enough to say anything.

After what seemed like forever, Mila and I managed to blow up 350 balloons, with the help of an air machine.
“How the fuck are we going to get all of these to Dwight’s apartment?” I ask, standing in the doorway with my hand resting on my hip.
“Why didn’t we think of this before?” Mila laughs, tossing a few of the balloons into the air.
“We’ll figure it out. I need another drink.”
I head into the kitchen and grab myself another fruity cocktail, this time going a little lighter on the alcohol.
Grabbing my phone off the counter where it was charging, I power it on and head into Mila’s living room.
Four missed calls, and four text messages. Why would he text me that much?
I open my messaging app and notice two of the messages are not from Jay.
They’re from Jenn, and she’s fucking livid.
Saw your Insta post. So glad to know that I’ve been replaced by Mila. Quite insulting to read ‘Having drinks with THE QUEEN’, when we haven’t spoken in so long. That used to be us Gwen.
