Gwen

Attempting to hide something from the person you live with is nearly impossible. Speaking of Jay, he’s been staring me down for the past few minutes.

He’s likely wondering what I’m up to, and his sinister gaze is anything but comforting.

“So, if this is a party for Jenn, why haven’t I been invited?” Jay asks with a wide grin on his face.

“You think you’d fit the vibe?” I sarcastically laugh, sending off one final text to Mila.

Mila and I became really close during the past month. She’s the only one in Jay’s group that I can relate to. His gamer friends are confusing as hell, and I don’t understand a word they say.

“Hmm, you tell me, Gwen—am I fun?”

DO NOT answer that.

“Also…that’s a little suspicious, Gwen,” he says, making a point to intimidate me by using my name again.

“How so?” I cannot lie to save my life.

“Because you haven’t talked to Jenn in a while.”

I sigh, knowing he’s right. Our last message to each other was two whole weeks ago. Surely if she was mad about something, she would have told me by now.

Not knowing what else to say about the subject, I make my way into the kitchen and grab my wallet from the counter. Jay just paid me, so I have plenty enough money right now to make this party memorable, to say the least.

“Leaving for the day?” Jay stands with his arms crossed over his chest leaned up against the door frame, scaring the living fuck out of me because I didn’t even hear him come in.

He always does that fucking door frame thing when he wants to initiate something.

It works every time.

“Jay—” I groan, biting down on my lower lip with my eyes fixated on the massive erection he has.

“Mmmmm…moaning my name is a good start,”

Jesus.

I’m saved by a sudden loud notification sounding from my phone. The ache between my thighs subsides and I sigh when I see a text from Jenn light up on the screen.

That’s so weird.

“What’s up?” Jay says, noting the discomfort written abruptly on my face.

“Oh…Jenn texted me,” I say.

“And—”

“S-she seems mad.”

I can’t possibly mention anything of what she actually said.

Jenn has everything all wrong. I honestly thought she would tell me something like this well before now. She even encouraged this in the beginning.

In the span of a few run-on sentences, she expressed how much she disapproves my life choices. Boldly pointing out that she’s been replaced with a ‘skinnier’ version of herself. That reference being toward Mila of course.

Maybe Jenn is just in a horrible mood. Life has probably been chaotic since her and Sawyer decided to elope.
