Trev shivered.

This was intimate, and he didn’t like how vulnerable he felt, especially when Jupiter wrapped his arm around him. Trev’s hand naturally reached up to hold Jupiter’s forearm, and his cock twitched.

“So.” Trev cleared his throat. “What did you want to talk about?”

“Do you know who Rafaello Luchesi is?” Jupiter asked.

“No, but I’m going to assume he’s one of your many other charming relatives.”

“He was the don of the Luchesi family at the height of our power. He had three sons… and one bastard.”

“You.”

“Yes.” Jupiter’s fingers traced Trev’s collarbone. “My mother was one of the maids. I was born just a few years before Rafaello died and he never claimed me. Sal and Emil are my cousins. Their father, Ugo, was Rafaello’s brother, but he has not… been doing very well for a long time.”

Trev squeezed Jupiter’s powerful forearm. “Yeah, I kinda noticed.”

“Before Ugo completely lost his mind, he said that one of Rafaello’s sons should lead the family. There used to be four of us. Matteo, Cristian, and Luigi. Cold killed them all.”

“Except you.”

“Except me.” Jupiter sighed softly. “I doubt he even knows I exist. The family wouldn’t want me to lead anyway. Because I’m a bastard. And yes, because of my… preferences. Some other members of the family created a council and have been leading in Ugo’s absence, but Sal and Emil believe they should be in charge.”

“Let me guess. Not so much?”

“The council has gotten pretty comfortable running things, but Sal and Emil have been pushing hard for them to dissolve and elect a new don. Of course, they think it should be one of them, but the majority of the council are still loyal to Ugo and if given the choice between choosing Emil or Sal or respecting Ugo’s wish…”

“They’d pick the gay bastard?”

“I doubt it, but there’s still a chance.”

“So, in other words…” Trev pursed his lips. “Sal and Emil have a big ol’ motive to make you look like shit and get rid of you.”

“Yes.”

“Why are you telling me this? Not that I don’t appreciate the quality sharing time with no clothes on...” Trev stroked Jupiter’s forearm slowly. “But you’ve made it very clear you don’t trust me.”

“Because, ironically, you might be the only one I can trust.” Jupiter rested his cheek in Trev’s hair. “Neither one of us wants to be here.”

“What? Don’t want to lead the big scary mob family?”

“No.” Jupiter scoffed. “I was happy with what I had. Now everything is much more complicated, and I cannot simply walk away.”

“Why don’t we walk right out that front door right now then?” Trev said. “Me and you?—”

“It’s not that easy.” Jupiter hugged Trev a little closer. “They’re keeping an eye on me too. I can’t just leave whenever I want. Not with Sal’s goons hanging around watching.”

Trev leaned his head back against Jupiter’s shoulder and processed the information. It was certainly possible that Jupiter was playing him the same way Trev had intended to play him, but it didn’t sound like Jupiter had much to gain by telling him all of this except a slightly more cooperative prisoner.

But maybe…

Maybe it would be easier to escape if they worked together.

Trev rocked his hips back with a smirk. “Sounds like you could use some help making a plan, huh?”

“Perhaps an alliance of sorts.” Jupiter’s hand dragged down Trev’s chest. “It would be beneficial to us both.”

“So what?” Trev kept moving, rubbing his ass into Jupiter’s groin. “What do you want me to do?”
