My hands moved on their own. Over her hips and waist until I was grasping her cheeks. I tucked the wisps of hair behind her ear. My thumbs smoothed over her creamy skin. Her lips were bright red against her fair complexion. They called to the darkness inside.

Violet melted into me as I kissed her. It was languid. Adoring. It wasn’t leading anywhere; I just wanted to feel her.

I couldn’t stop myself from touching her. Kissing her. It was too good to end. Even when I knew loving touch was always followed by pain.

For the first time, it felt worth the risk

Her dark lashes framed dazed green eyes. My thumbs skimmed her features. “Connor and Maverick are going to take you home.”

She turned into my palm like she didn’t want me to let go. My heart raced. “What about you?”

She raised her hand as if to reach for me, but I moved down her shoulders until I grasped her wrist. I held her in place gently. Her eyebrows furrowed for a moment before she relaxed into me again.

I brought her hands to my face, kissing each pulse point. “I have some work to do.”

She nodded as she stood. Maverick was right there, pulling her to his side. She wrapped an arm around his waist, sighing happily as she leaned against him. My chest ached.

I wanted to do that. Have her hold me, but I couldn’t. My teeth clicked together, biting down on my remorse. But I was happy he could give that to her.

“Let’s get some food, belladonna?” He kissed her hair. “Or we could just eat you again.”

“You are fucking delicious.” Connor came to her other side, grabbing her hand and interlocking their fingers.

Her head tipped back in laughter. The sound was light and twinkling. I loved hearing it from her. Loved even more that we made her this way.

It was wrong. I shouldn’t feel like this for her. It was sex. She needed to leave eventually.

But I wanted her to go happy. To know that we’d cared for her. Kept her safe.

“No.” She turned and those brilliant green eyes found me again. My chest tightened when I had her attention. “You’ve had enough tonight. It’s straight to bed.”

Her mouth quirked. “Yes, sir.”

“Violet.” Her name was a warning as I closed the distance between us. I gripped her chin even as she tilted her head back in defiance. “Don’t be a brat or I’ll take you over my knee right now.”

Her eyes turned molten. Her lips parted; a gasp ghosting over my skin. I relished her response. Leaning forward, I pressed our mouths together. I needed a taste. One more kiss.

Another.

Another.

Fuck.

When would it be enough?

In that moment, I realized there wouldn’t be. And I finally gave in to what my brothers already knew.

She was ours.

Hours later, after I’d shut the club down for the night and driven home, I found myself at the foot of a different bed. But I was staring down at the same girl.

Her dark hair was damp, strewn across her pillow. Her pale complexion glowed in the moonlight filtering through the curtains. Her chest rose with each steady breath.

I could smell the soap lingering on her skin. It comforted me to know Mav and Connor had taken care of her like she’d deserved. That should satisfy me and I could go back to my room.

But I didn’t.
