“We proved your point.” Reid said as he straightened his jacket, not even looking at me.
“You just asking for a kiss made the three of us hard.” Maverick’s steel eyes raked over me, making my nipples tighten. “You’re desirable, baby.”
“We want you so much it’s driving us crazy.” Connor moved from behind me, joining his brothers.
My gaze bounced between them. Were they really stopping right now? This was all just because I asked? They did this for me.
I saw their cocks straining against their pants. Felt the wetness between my thighs. I wasn’t nearly finished.
“I want more.” I needed more of this feeling. It was like a drug. I didn’t think. Didn’t worry. I felt like it was essential to my survival.
My body hummed as I stepped towards them. My hands hovered in the air over Reid’s chest. Maybe I’d chosen him because he was closest to me. Or because he was clearly in charge.
But it didn’t matter because as soon as I came close, he moved away. My arms fell limply to my sides.
His words sliced into my fragile heart. “You don’t know what you’re asking.”
Perhaps it was the post orgasm bliss. Or the euphoria of knowing I could still feel desire, but I felt brave. I closed the distance between us, reaching for him again. “Yes, I—.”
“Violet!” My entire body stilled at the command in his tone. His chest rose as he glared at me. “We’re a group. In everything we do. You can’t just have one of us. It’s all or nothing.”
“We don’t sleep with each other.” Connor clarified. “But we find we work better if we do things together.”
“Why?”
“We never wanted anything to come between us.” Reid’s stare dared me to judge them. “Not even a woman. You’re not ready for that. For us.”
“Most women aren’t.” I looked to Maverick as he spoke. “At least not for more than a night or two.”
“You need someone to take care of you.” Connor sounded almost apologetic. “Someone to help you heal.”
And that wasn’t them. They were telling me. The heart they’d started to mend cracked.

Connor’s fist came barreling towards my face. I felt the shifting of air as I ducked, narrowly avoiding the punch. My arm hurled up, connecting with his gut. The breath whooshed from his lungs as he jerked forward. He gripped around my waist, tossing me off. My back hit the ropes, but I hopped up again.
“Nice shot.” His lip twitched as he bounced on his feet.
Ares was empty at this time of day. There were no windows to let in the late morning sun, only the fluorescent lights buzzing in the background. I hated them. They reminded me of juvie. Institutions. Neglect.
“Lucky shot.” Maverick shouted from the sidelines. He stood shirtless on the other side of the ring. He paced back and forth, waiting for his turn to expel the restless energy.
We had plenty of it after last night. Images of Violet’s face as she came burst into my mind. Her bright green eyes as she stared at me. Her pale pink lips swollen and parted. Her creamy skin flushed.
She was so goddamn beautiful I was hard just thinking about her. And her taste. Fuck. I’d spent hours drinking; hoping the alcohol would burn it away, but it still lived on my tongue. One tiny hit of her and I felt myself becoming addicted.
That couldn’t happen.
My gut tightened. My jaw clenched. My fists curled as I swung on Connor again.
“Shit.” He jumped back as I came at him hard.
This was his fault. We should’ve let her go. She shouldn’t be here. Driving me crazy. Making me obsess over her.
I had a club to run. A family to protect. Monsters to find. I didn’t need her messing with my carefully crafted life.
