“With a note?”

“Yeah. Says Heidi should’ve stayed stripping and far away from me. But she’ll be dead soon enough as punishment.”

His eyes narrow. “A death threat?”

“Yeah... what’d yours say?”

“Basically that he plans to fuck my wife and has been watching us. From O’Malley.”

“Wait, he signed it?”

“Yep, and Lex seems to have a weird connection to this motherfucker. She knew he was outside, but I didn’t believe her. I should’ve fucking believed her. Yours wasn’t signed?”

“Nope.”

Why the hell would the Slashers threaten Heidi? “Have you heard from Jace?”

“You were my first call. It was a guarantee your wife got one if mine did. That freakshow loves her.”

“Thanks for reminding me,” he says. “I’ll check if Jace and Mel got anything.”

Lex tilts her head. “Heidi got a death threat?”

“Yeah,” he says and calls Jace.

“That doesn’t make sense,” she mutters and looks around. “What’s their plan?”

Heavy breathing answers. “Better be fucking good, man.”

“I’m going to guess you didn’t get a messaged attached to a rock through the window of your place if you’re still fucking Mel.”

“What message?” Jace asks, suddenly alert.

“Heidi got a death threat, and Lex got a Slasher’s version of a love letter. No broken windows?”

Grunting, he says, “Hold on.”

“They got nothing?” Lex asks.

“I guess not. Although, to be fair, they fuck like gorillas and could have just not heard it.”

“All our windows are intact,” Jace says. “And I heard that. But I’m not offended.”

“Didn’t think you would be.”

“Are the girls alright?”

“Yeah.”

He pauses and lets out a sigh. “What do you need?”

What does Colt need? “Just... keep an eye out, okay?”

“Are you checking with Rocco?”

He rolls his eyes. “No, Autumn was barely injured compared to the rest of them. I know it’s not her fault, but it’s not the same. She didn’t go through what our girls did.”

“You feel the same way I do.”
