Unbelievable.

I shake my head. “How does this necklace help me with Apollo?”

“When the time is right, let him touch it.” Pierce continues, “This will give him a very real vision of who we are and that you are telling the truth. It’s a very ~convincing~ vision, and he will not doubt you.”

I bite my lip, then nod, and I take the necklace from Pierce. It shimmers and sparkles, the weight of it making me feel as though it will shatter if I drop it. He helps me clasp it around my neck.

“I have faith Apollo will come for you.”

I pray he is right.

“Otherwise, we are all out of the business.”

Chapter 34

I take a shaky breath.

This is it.

This is where it all will all begin or end.

“Pierce says this will be the last dress he makes you,” Mort says as she types and blinks. “He also says it’s been an honor.”

~My engagement dress~.

I grab the Darling necklace that hangs around my neck and squeeze it. It’s finally time. I am to be escorted soon.

April, Destiny, Ivy, and Laura came to me earlier, wishing me good luck. They all have found a home here except for Cherie, but that’s okay. She has had the time of her life apparently—no regrets.

I have not seen April my entire journey here, being a slave and all. But when I saw her, she appeared wild and free, a far cry from when I first met her as a timid little pixie girl.

She was so happy for me, saying that it was meant to be. Pierce had told them about me being from here all along, the real lost princess. This place is where it all began for me. Fate has taken me back.

Destiny is in love with a very handsome man and seems happy. Ivy has also come to love it here. I forgot that the girls were all living their experiences here as well. I was not the only one who came out on top.

Which is why I need to win Apollo over today.

“Tell Pierce the honor is mine.”

A tinge of sadness washes over me. I will miss him, and especially Mort. I give myself a shake not wanting to think about that yet.

I start to spin, not needing Mort to tell me. My skin tingles and sparkles flicker around me.

This never gets old.

I gasp, skin feeling hot. I glance down and just stare. I am now in Cinderella blue, a shimmering gown that must have rivaled hers. My hands touch the magical fabric and I sigh, feeling like a goddess.

It’s gorgeous, like everything Pierce makes. The off-the-shoulder neckline exposes me just enough to seduce and tantalize.

I feel my hair. The raven locks twist and twirl down my back, shimmering as if enchanted. “Mirror,” I breathe.

Mort holds a mirror out in front of me, and I suck in a breath.

“Pierce really wants you to have the best chance.” Mort grins.

I glance at her and I raise a brow. “That sounds a little vain, but I will take it. If this does not work, then nothing would have worked.”

I touch my full lips, a glistening nude. My lashes are sooty black, contrasting with a pearlized eyeshadow. I look angelic.
